While I understand the hate behind your decision not to use Grey Hunters and Long Fangs, I think the title of this list is pretty silly.

Because you still have long fangs with missile launchers and you've just replaced your Grey Hunters with models that aren't even as good as a standard space marine. I mean, Blood Claws are just Grey Hunters with BS3 and WS3. The only other difference really is that Grey Hunters have better wargear - but you still just take GH's with none of that wargear right? Would you still hate them just because they're called grey hunters and not blood claws?

Well, I don't. Also most of the SW players hate the double WP with divination. I don't see anything wrong with ONE Rune Priest.

Grey Hunters, IMHO, are better to sit down on an objective and camping, waiting for the enemies.
The Blood Claws are an assault unit, who must run into the enemy line to RIP N TEAR everything on their path.
Also, I rarely see Wolf Guard Termies, with the exception of the Logan-wing.
I'd put Thunderwolf Cavalry, but I don't have the points.
Also: LF spam and ONE unit of 'em is a different thing, I think...

I have to disagree a little bit. Grey Hunters ARE good at objective camping. But they are also pretty good at just about every thing else too. They're good at shooting. They're good in close combat. They can claim objectives. They have access to transports. Grey Hunters are pretty much the best troop choice in the game from any army list. That's why people (non-SW players) hate them so much!

Blood Claws ARE intended to be an assault unit. But they still suck! Consider that for the same price you could have a blood angel assault marine which is WAY better. Even an Ultramarine assault marine is at least as good and for the same price. Furthermore, you can easily make a Grey Hunter unit into a close combat beast by giving it a Mark of the Wulfen and Wolf Standard. In fact, that GH unit will probably out perform your BC unit in close combat and they get to keep their bolters too!

This is why it's so ridiculous for people to complain about Grey Hunters. We have to take troops, but our only troop choices are Grey Hunters or Blood Claws. Grey Hunters are hands down the BEST troop choice while Blood Claws are meh. Is that really a choice at all?

I see WG Terminators as pack leaders fairly often. But I agree that usually you don't see them outside a Logan Wing because of the price.

I agree actually. It's just that the title of your post is 'feth you GH-LF spam!' while the content of your list only differs from those lists by exchanging BC's for GH's.

I don't think that this is necessarily a bad list and I actually appreciate your intentions - making it a fun list and not spamming those units that Russ' enemies hate. What I'm saying is that when you look closely at your list, you can see how silly it is to take Blood Claws over Grey Hunters. It's like you're intentionally handicapping yourself! This list just shows everyone exactly why we see so many Grey Hunter spam lists.

Mhmhm I don't think that BC are so bad, I think that they're simply more random compared to the Grey Hunters. Also, I play for the BG, and the BC fluff is awesome (pratically a bunch of pranksters in Power Armor, gotta love 'em).
I think that if the Dices' God it's on your side, your BC Packs can be a pain in the back of your opponent.
Yeah, they have 3-3 and not 4-4, I know, but I usually play with my friends Guardsmen, so it's not a problem IMHO (and you get... what... +2/3 attacks with the Berseker Charge rule, so more or less are 2 attacks for model).
I play that unit of LF simply 'cause I play vs IG with tanks spam and tyr with MCs spam, so I need some heavy fire.
The rune priest... well, I play it 'cause I love the models in PA, it looks like Gandalf the Grey! (yeah, LotR fan here xD)
The WG in Termies: they're not packs leaders, but a Termies unit. I use 'em like that, Deep Strike in my opponents side of the table and PAAAAIN.
The other 3 WG are used for discipline the BC packs.

Several things borked:

Rune Priest:
Don't take a Plasma Pistol and you can't take one book power and one codex power. It's two from one or the other. Then you can drop Master of Runes and give him Runic armor.

Also, if you use Jaws, you no longer roll to hit... Chooser is wasted!

Wolf Guard Termies:
How are you deepstriking without a drop pod? Remember, we fear technology so no teleporting terminators (The reason why I don't run terminators... oh, and they are overpriced).

Blood Claws:

Seriously, they are terribad. WS3, even with more attacks, means you're getting punched simultaneous with most other marines and they hit you on 3s. Flamers are a good choice, but you're lacking melta and plasma. Combi-plasma are just one shot wonders... you need "staying power" plasma.

Long Fangs:
Either bring a Lazorback or leave it on the shelf. Use the points for upgrades like Mark... oh, wait. Blood Claws.


I take a lot of flakk for playing Wolves (even though I'm one of the few who do in my area... weird), but then I just bring my Av13 Necron Wall or my Sisters and people stop complaining.

Grey Hunters are the best troop in the game, potentially. My list would be a cheaper Rune Priest, 2 Long Fangs, Greys, and 2 Lone Wolves w/ TDA/CF/SS (because I love Lone Wolves!). Play what's satisfying. If you only play one person and wanna be fluffy, cool. Then you wouldn't need a list review. Since you asked, you're taking garbage units just to be fair to whiners. I say screw that, be a real Wolf(man)!
