Ok, so I've managed to build up a decently sized Space Wolves army (somewhere in the range of 2,500) and have really enjoyed them. I generally play at the 1,500 point range, but I don't get to the FLGS as often as I'd like to be able to play, so I've been considering building a new army to be able to field here at home when friends drop by. I've always been a huge fan of the aesthetic and the individual nature of Eldar units, so despite being an older Codex I'm leaning towards building them. I would also most likely be the one playing the Eldar forces, since they are at a bit of a disadvantage.
Anyway, before I start buying, I thought I'd get some opinions on the list I'm considering building up and how it would hold up against Space Wolves (mostly infantry, little mech):
How about:
HQ
Eldrad Ulthran 210
Farseer 115
Doom/Guide/Spirit Stones
Troops
10x Dire Avenger 242
Exarch(/wBladestorm&Dual Avenger)/Wave Serpent
9X Dire Avenger 230
Exarch(/wBladestorm&Dual Avenger)/ Wave Serpent
5x Pathfinders
Fast Attack
9x Warp Spider 240
Exarch(Powerblades, Twin Death Spinners, Withdraw)
Heavy Support
3x War Walkers 180
All with Dual Scatter Lasers
1x Wraithlord 150
Dual Flamers/Bright Lance/EML
Total 1492
I feel like this list would give some solid anti-infantry power, while still providing good maneuverability. Rangers could camp a backfield objective, while Farseer with the 9 DA could rush to midfield objectives or converge with Spiders to take out important threats. Heavies of course providing fire support from the back. Major concern is that I'd need a harder backfield unit to help hold the objectives, as the Wolves lists often run multiple drop pods. Any thoughts/suggestions on how to change up the basic structure of this list, or what units I should consider starting with?
Thanks for any input!
