Gonna be making a new captain for my marines and I want a truely epic looking sword to represent the Relic Blade he'll be using. The normal power weapons don't seem up to snuff, anyone know of any good swords that would make a good conversion?

a Necron Lychguard sword might look ok, if you can get a second hand around the hilt, and dont mind it looking a little Xeno-ish

I like the sword of Khaela Mensha Khaine. It's pretty easy to file the eldar rules off of it, and it's a very no-nonsense looking blade. Also, big enough to obviously be two handed.

A strip of plasticard and you can make any sword you want. And it'll be unique. If you get the thinner stuff, you can layer the blade for neat effects. I made some chainswords this way.

Or you could check out some of the aftermarket options, such as the sword in this pack from Kromlech

Also i am a fan of Azrael's sword, in fact I bought the model just for it and removed his hand from his wrist!

Very nice, I've been looking for 3rd party models but didn't see much that looked power-weaponary, any idea of any other companies with cool sword bits?

An Emperor's Champion model comes with artificer armour and a relic blade.

All you need to do is add a jump pack/leave it as is, since it does not come with any noticeable Templar iconography on it.

Is there a permanent stickied thread for Chaos players to complain every time someone/anyone gets models or rules besides them? If not, there should be.

Third party swords seem to be the one thing that is not that easy to find:

> Anvil industry does some short swords but they are more roman-esque.

> Puppetswar has nice demonic swords and some awesome glaives & halbards but no plain swords.

>Scibor does some impressive swords but they are celtic themed

GW wise: the SM Command Squad box has the company champion's sword in it, it looks double handed.

Also have a look at all the BA Sanguine guard swords- all double handed and the various Iconography can be removed/filled very easy!
