I play csm, cd, and tau, and I have been trying to figure out how Iwant to set up mytau allies using what I have. My current Idea goes like this:
Firewarrior gunline holding my rear objectives.
Kroot infiltrated to forward defensible position.
Deamons deploy a portal glyph that uses the kroot as bubblewrap.
Battlesuits and deamons go all out offensive to clear objectives and generally kill the enemy.
Portal glyph spawns scoring units to move onto objectives.

Does this seem like a sound strategy, or should I be rethinking it? What holes can you poke in it? Have any of you tried it beforre, and if so, how did it work out?

Daemons can't score if tau are your primary detachment

Okay I checked the brb and its faq, and it made no mention of only primary detatchment troops being able to score. Would you be so kind as to point me towards the appropriate rule?

There is a silly argument around that stated that since allies of convenience are treated as enemies they wouldn't be able to score units for you. They however score on themselves, so your tau army got say 1 objective, your daemon army got another 1, and the enemy 1. Each army has 1 objective so the Tau didn't win... you as the owner of both armies did so...

Ah nevermind. CD are desperate allies for tau, and therefore nonscoring, nondenial units according to the brb.
