Okay so a little bit of background - I'm starting up a new D&D game and I'm working on a model for my character.
Going to be playing an Illithid psion based loosely around the concept of the adversary from 2nd Edition - i.e. although outwardly the character appears to be a mindflayer - inside the human mind has survived and now has to deal with the fact that he is a brain eating abomination who is widely feared and persecuted where ever he goes.

So I figure that he is going to need some sort of mask to get around.

Now i have my heart set on using the dark elf model for lokhir felheart as my main miniature - though i'm going to lop his arms off and replace the swords with a staff and a psionic crystal.

Still I'm thinking of getting two and having one with him wearing a human looking mask on one (the idea being that it is made of metal that can change shape) but I'm having trouble finding a head that looks right.

The look i'm going for is just a basic human face outline similar to this:

So far all that I've been able to come up with is the head from the balthasar gelt model:

Which i'm not too keen on because of the frill and the spines.

Or the head from the Dante model

Which wont work because Dante is too big and has bloody wires coming out of it.

Hoping that someone else here can recommend a model with a mask similar to what i'm going for.

Thanks in advance

Trumbus

The Empire Battle Wizards kit has a masked head, the guy on the left here has it

The silly beard bit can be trimmed off easily, the only difficulty is that the mask doesnt have a mouth or any details like that. There is also a bit for the TK Tomb Guard that has a similar style to this but looks
more like an actual face.

The Sanguinary Guard kit for BA has a whole bunch of Death Mask heads, similar to Dante's but individual plastic bits, so it'll be easier to get them on bits sites etc and save some money.

Another alternative would be the Harlequin masks; perhaps not quite as versatile for conversion purposes but they would give a nice sinister look.

If all else fails, you could just paint a normal head's face gold and fill in the eyes with black, at miniature scale, the difference won't really be noticeable.

How to paint Skeletons the way I do if that's something you'd fancy trying.

There is the Dark Vengeance cultist wearing a commissar coat that has a nice mask. Should be fairly cheap as well

The Empire Wizard kit is a great one.

There is also another option in the form of an alternate head from the Vampire Counts "Cairn Wraith".

You're looking at the head on the left side, the "skull mask" looking one.

Thanks your the quick replies everyone!

So far I think that the tomb guard one is my favourite, has that sort of stoic emotionless look that i'm going for:

Shouldn't be too hard to snip off the beard and the crest - and then green stuff up a hood to put it in.
