Under the Ork FAQ is reads:

Q: If a Boyz mob exchange sluggas and choppas with shootas, can a Nob take a power klaw or big choppa ?(p100)
A: You may upgrade the Nob to have a big choppa or power klaw before you choose to upgrade the mob to have shootas, in which case the Nob is not affected by the mob's weapon swap (as he no longer as a choppa to swap), does not receive a shoota and keeps his slugga and power klaw / big choppa instead.

Can I apply the same logic to a warboss; up grade his choppa to a power klaw, then upgrade his slugga & choppa to mega amor to gain a second power klaw ? He has no choppa to swap since he replaced it with a power klaw.

Searched the FAQ's and the forums, but could find anything accept for a similar question for Big Meks.

Only reason I am asking is cause I am converting a special warboss for a campaign, but be nice to still be legal model.

Thanks

Strictly speaking, no, as the FAQ entry only applies to Boyz mobs, not to other units in this situation in general.

The FAQ for the Boyz answers your question, but not the way you want. If the Warboss doesn't have a slugga & choppa to swap for the mega armor, he can't swap.

Yeah you wouldn't be able to do that. If is for a campaign then you could use him as a custom special character as long as the opponent is fine with it.

If your attack is going too well, you have walked into an ambush

The easy way is always mined

Yeah, the reason the Big Mek works is that he only replaces his slugga with mega armor, whereas the Warboss has to replace both.
