Subject: How have you converted a SM to be a chaplain

Looking for ideas for when I make a chaplain and his iconic facemask. I was thinking of cutting the face off a SM and a Skeleton and gluing them together but would like to hear other ideas

Probably the best looking method: http://fromthewarp.blogspot.com/2010/11/chaplain-skull-helmet-conversion.html?m=1

That converted one above looks awesome! Its an easy conversion too!
I personally have used These helmets from anvil industry for chaplin helms and Maximini actually makes a quasi chaplin set here
You could also use the skull helmet from the Khone beserkers set with the 'bunny ears' cut off - like the chap in this thread
I beleive there is a skull helm in the WoC box set too?
Regarding the rest: full DA robed torso and legs always works well, also chaos legs make good ornate armour with some modifications and there are several torso's that would make good chaplin armour (the company champions torso in the SM command set for one!) - and skulls...cant forget the skulls.
The Crozius Arcanum can easily be made with a bunch of parts, the DA mace hand and a banner top from the SM, SM command & teminator banners works a treat.
If I remember I will post a pic of my most recent converted chaplain when i get home - I'd like to see others too! always good for inspiration!

Anvil and MaxMini are nice, but with shipping it'll be too expensive. You might as well buy a Chaplain on eBay.
Best way is to get a Khorne player and see if he'll give you a skull helmet.
Here is one I did last year for my friend's army. I used CSM skull helmet, Black Temp shoulder pad, Berserker Shoulder pad, Berzerker body and legs, DA back pack, Skaven smoke thing, SM Assault Marine right power axe, and generic SM plasma arm.
And here's one I did for a little kid at my LGS. I used CSM "skull" helmet, a SM Command Squad Banner top and I think the shaft was from an Ork axe.

I like the plastic solution above but imo you should have shaved the heard of the arrow on the helmet off... Looks far too Chaosy and it'd be pretty easy just to take a file to it!

You could just use a helmet-less screaming head. Not all chaplains wear helmets, it's the black paint job that sets them apart more then a hat.

A few options:
The skull head from the Chaos Marine sprue:
There's also a variant of this head with a targeter, which I think comes from the Chaos Vehicle Accessory sprue:
The Berzerker skull helm with the bunny ears removed:
The green stuff grill over the teeth isn't really necessary... just wanted to make it a little more distinctive.
You can also use a regular Marine head and putty it up to be a little more skull-like. This one was used for a Librarian, but the idea is the same:
For the bare head option, a green stuff face mask can help make him a little more distinctive than just using a regular marine head:

If you're more skilled at painting and freehand than converting, I think it would be pretty cool to take a regular old marine, paint him black, add some bling, and simply freehand a white skull on his black helmet. Sort of like Roach's skull bandana from MW2 or Jim Raynor's skull visor from SC2.

There are quite a few csm heads that would do the job. Including this one. spare if you want it. It just needs the arrow shaving off the top.
