Currently i´m playing Dark Angels and imo they are pretty similar to C:SM and the other SM codices are very close rulewise. Now i want something different.
My first idea was playing IG because I am really into the semi-modern military stuff but on the other hand they are very shooty too and share a huge part of their armory. Chaos Marines are very close too. Because I am losing all the time anyway I don´t mind to play a difficult or "old" army, so what would you recommend? At my FLGS i have seen the old DE starter box for 50€. Would this be a decent start?

Pretty Much any of the xenos besides 'crons is going to give you what you're looking for.

Inquisitorial lesson #298: Why to Hate Choas Gods, cont'd-
With Chaos, Tzeench would probably turn your hands, feet and face into
scrotums, complete with appropriate nerve endings. Then Khorne would
force you and all your friends to fight to the death using your new
scrotal appendages. Once they get tired of that, you get tossed to
Slaanesh who <censored by order of the Inquisition>, until you finally
end up in Nurgle's clutches and he uses you as a loofah. |

Daemons or Tyranids. Either is sufficiently different from space marines to make you step back and think "Woahs".

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

DE. "What do you mean I can't get an armor save from a bolter?"
Completely different play style, great looking models and generally something that will take a while to figure out.

My vote goes to any of the following, in order of most different first:
Daemons
Tyranids
Dark Eldar
Orks
Eldar
