Firstly,

Gets hot no longer seems to cancel all shots from that weapon (so a plasma gun that rolls a 1 and a 6 misses both shots, like in fifth.)

Secondly,

Are Multiple-fire-mode weapons (missile launchers, for example) forced to fire the same missile type as the rest of their squad? (so two missile launchers in a dev squad forced to shoot Krak missiles, or can one fire frag and the other fire krak?)

Thirdly

The rules on page 13 read

Moving and Shooting, Page 13 wrote:
The effect of shooting is applied on a model-by-model basis.

So, 4 boltguns can shoot while moving, while a missile launcher stays put and fires without krak shots?

1) Gets Hot has NEVER cancelled all shots, just those that got hot. A (1, 6) in 4th 5th and 6th results in 1 gets hot, 1 hit

2) No, this has never been a rule. The only unit that is required to always fire the same weapon ar obliterators

3) Yes,this is a change to 5th edition (and previous) as the position of models is now very important.

Wow, was I playing fifth edition wrong.

Thankyou, Nosferatu.

1. Gets hot only stopped the shot that got hot. I don't think it has changed at all.

2. Don't see anything saying you have to have everyone with the same missiles but since you can choose which weapon a model fires I would see that as permission to choose firing mode.

3. A unit of 10 SM with a missle launcher on the front of a conga line. All the SM move but him, everyone else can shoot as having moved, he shoots as having not moved.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

WEll on everything but 3), as previously any models moving meant the whole unit had "moved", which was quite a penalty

Yeah, it was one of those streamlining things that really kinda sucked for any army that was actually affected by heavy weapons.

Just to make sure - I believe you mean "snap shots". The model can of course still fire a krak missile in your example.
Worth noting, though - if a missile launcher model has moved (and doesn't have Relentless or similar), it can snap shot a krak missile, but NOT a frag missile, as it's a Blast.

Now this made me go read the rules again 'cus I just couldn't believe what I was reading.

Movement (or not) is now determined on a model by model basis, so if the rest of the squad moves, but the heavy weapon-carrying model does not, then the heavy weapon is fired as if stationary?

I feel I have been playing 6th wrong.

Yes, if the model that has the heavy weapon does not move, he fires at normal BS.
