In the entry of the night scythe first paragraph says "With its turret mounted.." does that mean it has a 360° firing arc? I was told it does but the guy I was playing with argued that in the entry there is no such thing in the weapons profile .

Generally there are no arks given for vehicle weapons and you just go with what the actual model shows.

That section is fluff. The model clearly can not swivel and is thus hull mounted

It'd be nice if GW actually published vehicles' weapons arcs of fire in the relevant codices, they used to, it'd save a lot of arguments when it comes to some of the more "exotic" models and weapons.
Mass emailing of GW requesting diagrams of arcs of fire might produce a result, and while we're at it we can ask for the facings to be spelled out too, for vehicles without "corners".

The Tesla guns are (or should be) hull mounted - the model itself shows now possibility of movement as they are half built into the hull.

The issu ei had the other day (in a random twist) was my opponent (who was playing orks) decided that the Deathray on my Doomscythe shoudl have a 360 arc of fire as, if you look at the model - it appears to be on a ball joint so could be allwed to turn around ("turret mounted"). i was explaingin how the gun worked to him and he said - "wouldn't that be a turret though? look at the mounting".

I said no in the end as i think i've read a fair few posts about it on here - bu tit does raise an interesting point.

If you look MORE closely at it there is no way it could be 360 degree traversal, as a) the tesla get in the way and b) the cables attached to the guna nd hull would not "phycisally" be able to move that far round.

Thats pretty much what we said in the end.

I dont understand why GW stopped stating the weapon moutings in their codecies.

Would it really costthat much to add the words "hull mounted" before each entry in this list:
