I am looking for some insight for a recently equipped shadowsword kit. At the moment i am thinking of building;

Shadowsword: Because who doesn't like D weapons

Doomhammer: A decent primary weapon with a decent transport capacity to boot

Stormlord: There can be always more dakka i supose

Stormsword: I can't say the 10" blast isn't appealing but the short range

Either Shadowsword or Stormsword. The kit is easily convertable allowing you to switch betwen variants though.

I was considering buying one, and had the following thought: it looks like you could easily swap from stormsword/banesword/shadowsword by just adding extra barrel bits. Doesn't look like it would even need magnets.

I have also seen a guide somewhere online (might have been on this site) to make the whole thing magetised for all 6 variants, that's a bit more of an extreme project though. The point is, try to maintain as much flexibility as possible.

I agree

I just built mine , it can be swapped easily bentween stormsword and shadowsword , it potentially could be swapped with banesword if i didn't glue one piece but i think banesword is useless so i didn't go for it.

You can potentially swap between every variant if you keep several pieces unglued. And even now if i break just one glued place i can swap between every variant except banesword.

If you leave the upper hull frame unglued to the chassis you can switch between all variants, although the hardest one to do would be the Stormlord. Personally though I wouldn't go for the Stormlord anyway, since you're wasting the Destroyer potential on S6 BS3 shots.

D weapons are inherrently OP. However, the transport capacity of some of the variants is a huge pluss. Tech priests in the back for reps and some lascannon teams for even more damage.

Well the bad side of the shadwsword is , it is only a 5" blast.

While stormsword has a huge blast and still ignores cover like destroyer. The only downside is the range.
