I recently started working on a CSM army and just picked up my first heldrake. As awesome as the model is its quite large and, unsurprisingly, doesn't fit in the carrying case I made up for smaller models. I was wondering if anyone had come up with a clever way to safely transport these things.

Also I apologize if this is wrong sub, wasn't sure where else to post this question.

Hold it carefully?

Other than designing a foam-padded box for it, that is probably the only safe method.

This comes with a 2-3 inch thick pluck-foam pad AND egg crate foam that fits over the little tool thing in the lid. Also comes with removable dividers. I have 3 silver ones that I got many years ago and just found this one in black that I just bought and it's the exact same. Love them. Also, for troops I cut the pluck-foam pad horizontally to make 2 trays and it had enough room for 5 rows of 9 marine size slots on each tray. So 90 marines for one case. This should be plenty of space for a helldrake, but I don't remember the exact dimensions of the helldrake.

Very carefully.

Other than that, buy a falconeer-ing glove and hang the Heldrake under it like a bat.

PM me if you want me to draw anything related to Warhmmer 40k. I will put it in my gallery for all to see.

I carry around my 2 Drakes in a 4" double wide Sabol tray. Specifically, this one: http://www.thewarstore.com/product32187.html

The tray is deep enough that I can stack the Drakes on top of each other. I can provide some pics if needed.

I magnetized the wings at the shoulder. They break down into three pieces that I stack in a 6"x6" square.

Thanks for the advice, I particularly like the idea of getting a falconing glove.
