So I'm making this list to play against my buddy's Tau army and I've got a few questions that I'll address at the end.

HQ:
Librarian with terminator armor : 140 pts

Troops:
6 marines sergeant w/PF + Razorback w/twin linked Las 206
6 marines sergeant w/combi-melta + Razorback w/twin linked Las 191

Elites
5 assault Terminators w/THSS + Land Raider Crusader w/MM 460

Total: 997 points

Questions!
1. What spells are recommended for the Librarian? I will be running him with the Terminators. I was thinking Null Zone and Smite, Null Zone so that I can get more kills (duh) and Smite so that the blob can have some ranged effectiveness against blobs.
2. Is it a good idea for have 600 points tied up in one unit? That makes me kind of nervous, even if it is arguably the most powerful unit available to vanilla marines.
3. Should I run a different landraider variant? The model I have is Crusader, but dual TL lascannons would be incredibly powerful.
4. What advantages could I gain by running this list as Blood Angels? I saw that all their vehicles are fast, which is really appealing to me for obvious reasons.

Thanks for the help!

Your list will work. You highlight my problem with TH/SS terminators though. 1000 points and 600 of them really tied up in one unit!! This is just not my style that is all. I find that SM are good to above average as a firepower army but 50%+ in a close combat unit has defined you as a CC army. At 1000 points, I would look at dreadnoughts ironclad or regular that can use your razorbacks as cover to get to the enemy. Then I still have some rock hard CC units but stuff that can contribute to firepower...

I might also look at 10-man tacticals that I can combat squad... 2 extra heavy weapons to throw down range as well as 2 flamers to put some oomph into those tacticals coming out of the razorbacks.

you really dont need the razorbacks, just run 10 man squads of marines using flamer/melta and rocket/lascannon. you dont need the powerfist on the sergeant, since tau are not going to win CC with marines. i would keep the landraider, but maybe run as a redeemer? Its not gonna be doing much tank hunting no matter what you do with it. remember, at 1000 points, you opponent is going to be just slightly less starved for tanks and heavies as you are going to be. if you drop the terminators, you could actually squeeze a second tank in your list (youd be like 40 points short of another landraider)

It's good list overall though, how it works just depends on you and your opponent's style of play.

I find that razor backs are usually preferable to rhinos, especially if its a 10 man squad combat squadded. Squeezing more heavies into troop slots is important for marines AND it creates more legitimate targets on the field that aren't your scoring troops.

So if I were to up the squads to 10 man squads, would you guys recommend combat squading and still taking Razorbacks? Or getting Rhinos?

Null zone is good. While I generally prefer smite to avenger, odds are you are only going to get to shoot when you step out of the LR and get ready to charge. So go with the template, you are going to be close anyway.

I think the terminators in a LR is too many eggs in one basket at this point scale.

I like the basic LR myself. I don't field squads big enough to need the extra space, and generally have more then enough bolter fire in my army. And something on the table can always use a TLLC.

I can't speak to BA, as I'm a C:SM guy myself.

Always take tactical marines as full 10 man squads. If you find yourself taking half squads, just use scouts. If you want to combat squad into 5 man units, that's fine and works well. You get more milage out of your special/heavy weapons that way. I like to keep them together in a rhino, but there is a place in lists for both.

Razorbacks are good for a little extra firepower, but they are not real tanks; far too fragile.
75 points gets you 5 scouts. 120 points gets you an auto/las pred. That costs less then your half squads in razors, and while the troops are a little weaker, the pred has more guns and AV13 up front.

I'd rather have a MM/M tac squad in a rhino then a c-melta sarge in a razor. More bodies will be harder to move off of an objective.

You list has one very tough unit, and then a pair of very fragile ones. But your weak ones are the ones that can seize objectives. If you just play annihilation games, where all that maters is being the last man standing, you are OK. For any book mission, you'l have problems.
