Hi Guys
I just brought some finecast Zoanthropes from GW and they keep bending at the point where the tail meets the thing that comes out of the ground.
does anyone have any tips on how to stop this
Thanks

My solution was to make a small wad of greenstuff, about the size of a space marine helmet. glued that to a part of the zoanthrope's body, then clipped the top bit off of one of my bazillion extra flight stands and pressed that into the GS. once the stuff cured, i glued the stand into the socket. I'll see if I cant post a picture of one of the less painted ones.

*All this was done after finally clipping it off of the little baby capillary tower

Sell them and buy some of the old metal ones on Ebay?

Not what you're looking for?

Plastic flight stands will work. Just use a pin vise to drill a small hole into the body where it's a little thicker and glue the Zoan in place. You can run the resin under warm tap water and bend it slightly so the tail goes around the flight stand.

If you don't have a flight stand you could do the same with a piece of brass rod or plastic rod. Brass would be sturdier.

You could also conceal the rod with smoke, a tree branch, or other battle field debris or just paint it black.

Mine broke off where the tail meets the frond or whatever it is. We just pinned it - drilled a little hole and put a small metal rod connecting the tail to the base.

The finecast one is much nicer than the metal ones, which are very top-heavy.

Mine was cracking and bending at that joint so I snipped it off and pinned it in place after straightening up the resin. Very sturdy joint now.

A reinforcing pin is the only way. Top-heavy designs are unsuited to Finecast.

Think its Zoans in general. I've had a few problems getting the Metal ones to possition correctly. Top heavy model with a thin body and small tail tip to fix to base.

It's my codex and I'll cry If I want to.

Tactical objectives are fantastic
