Hi there, I'm new to Fantasy and trying to run a pretty strong list. Pretty Strong doesn't mean super-competitive but I would like it to be able to hold its own!

1500 Points Army

Slann, w/ Focused Rumination (extra dice), Battle Standard, Cupped Hands

Saurus Warriors, two units of 22 with full command
Skink Skirmishers, units of 11, 11, 10

Stegadon

Salamander Hunting Pack w/ 2 Salamanders

2000 Points Army

Slann, w/ Focused Rumination (extra dice), Battle Standard, Cupped Hands

Skink Priest, Lv.2 Wizard, Dispel Scroll, Staff of the Lost Sun (Short bow w/ S5, x3 Multi shot)
Saurus Scar Veteran w/ Two Hand Weapons, Shield, Light Armour
Is two hand weapons and a shield possible? Do I still get parry? Roster Editor lets me do it but I'm not sure of the rules - cheers

Saurus Warriors, three units of 22 with full command
Skink Skirmishers, four units of 10

Stegadon

Salamander Hunting Pack w/ 3 Salamanders

I'm thinking of dropping something in one or both armies to get a Skink Priest, Dispel Scroll, Level 2 Wizard, and maybe a Staff of the Lost Sun (S5 3x Multishot Short Bow) because I just love that comet spell and the ability to dispel something sounds fantastic. Alternatively, to either buff up that Saurus Scar vet with a few bits of decent magic kit (Sword of Might for instance), add another Scar Vet with standard kit, or purchase that "all spells in any one lore" skill for the Slann.

What do you think? How would you expand the army to 2500 points - I have plenty of models (no Carn, Terra, Razor or Krox but most else) but am not sure which direction to take the army from here!

Cheers

This is for 2500. Have the steg be the skink priest mount. That will open up a rare slot for another steg and 1 more unit of sallies. Or add another slann with crown of command etc or both. Light and life are very very good together.. if you go with crown of command make the block of sauri a horde 30-40 with a scar vet to accept challenges. This is an unbreakable unit now. Keep casting life to regen lost sauri and have stegs close maybe on either side

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I dont do focused mystery unless im using lore of life. Gotta have armour of thorns. If you scar vet try either in sauri unit with skann or sep in coldone cav. The armour save is awesome.
As for direction. I always go magic cuz they are the best. Trick out your slanns and shut down your opps magic phase.

Cheers for the advice man.

Life and Light both look fantastic, so maybe I will play at 2500 points in order to be able to run them both. I really like Saurus Warriors and the idea of a respawning, INT 10 block of doom is really appealing

God I love this game. If it was 40k Lizardmen it'd be "spam overpowered unit X all day erry day" and nothing else.
