I've always had the passing interest in the game since having it demo'd way back, but lack of certain models made me hesitate in getting in to it. Berserkers were what sold me on Vandalands, but in 1.0 they were suicidal without Nevsky. Now that they are (currently) less suicidal Nevsky is a less necessary piece to run them (though still pretty awesome). Combined with "Drinks on Me" things can get a little silly. Case and point the current 150 list I've been toying with
Warlord-Sabotage 1, Blade Spin 3, Have a Drink on Me, Effigy of Defeated Foes, Trumpet of the Last Bastion
Arctos Nevsky
Hamster Berserkers-15
Hamster Berserkers-5
Hamster Berserkers-5
Viklanders-5
Viklanders-5
Rat Raiders-4-Dishonour Guard
Rat Raiders-3-Ordenstaat
Rat Raiders-3-Ordenstaat
Trebuchet
Trebuchet
While it doesn't have the shock effect of Tactical Genius Hamsters in 1.0, there is still 25 hamsters staring you down, and 4 squads that can be tossed down the field. Could cram in 3 more hamsters for every Viklander, but Viklanders can at least take a hit so they make a better first wave with the Trebs. What are the Viklanders anyway?

Are they seriously? That's great
Ah, a hamster-trebuchet army! Very cool . I really like running them that way, so we are of a like mind. Looking forward to seeing more from you about this (theory or modelling).

That was sort of a joke. They're Vikings instead Visigoths. Sailing raiders instead of berserkers.

I know that I will not be the only one who will run the Warlord on Sabotage 1, something else 3.
Do you also think the first rank of Sabotage is by far the best talent the Warlord can get?

Hamsters, we talk about Hamster beer runs in the RPG.

Oooh, both of those are good news! I might be able to use my current hamsters and gerbils to try these out. Those also happen to be my two favorite normal models for the Vandalands thus far, so that helps (although the black kiwi and Jacques were fantastic, but were limited releases).

Well, Jacques will be returning.. in full force. That's why he has a stat card.

So what what are the odds of a hamster hero to maximize hamsterness in the vandalands? He'd definitely have stiff competition with a Drinking warlord, since he doubles the amount of possible berserkers you can field.

Still haven't fully looked into the rules, but it at least seemed better than rank 4 of Blade Spin. After I hit myself enough times with my own artillery my opinion may change on that.

We'll likely do a Hamster Warlord variant at some point, we've been going with more generic names for the Heroes recently for that purpose.
But we aren't likely to do a Named Hamster that replaces 'Have a drink on me'; it's much more likely a named Hero/Exemplar in another faction would allow you to take Hamsters outside of Vandalands. But who could that be?

So if I were to speculate on hero variants it'd probably go something like this.
-Pick the you want to use
-Pick its species. Species would likely affect stat line and possible available upgrades or gear progression
-Add levels and boons as current

Nah, it'll just be a variant model, unless we do another 'named' Warlord after George is released.
Take a look at how Chugoku & Ribenguo's heroes are setup.

What about increasing the Vanderlands Warlord's Base size from 30mm to 40mm?
That way if you want to convert a Hampster Warlord, you don't have to squeeze him onto a 30mm base.

Heroes can have varying base size without issue, Chugoku's named heroes are all on different size bases. The listed base size is mostly for proxying purposes, so you can have an idea of what to use when trying stuff out. We've had a few units change their base size after we received the sculpt. (The Hussars for instance)

aaahhhhhh. Since it listed the base size, I thought it meant it was bassicly written in stone. Good to know.
Soon the dovahkiin hamster shall be a reality!

Nah, very few things are written in stone.
I'd really like to see a wartorn Hamster decked out in armor made of chitin.

Sadly my sculpting skills aren't that good. lol
XD
I was planning on waiting until the Viklanders come out, and then was going to sculpt extra Chainmail and Armour plates over the medium armour they already wear. Then try not to botch scuplting a dovahkiin helmet on him.

Guess I'll wait and see what the option look like then before I replace "Not Cluny the Scourge" as my Warlord.
