I'm looking for the cheapest uk based online store to buy an Ork Army.
Total Wargamer is the cheapest I've seen so far but their communication and customer service is piss poor.
Any suggestions?

Triple helix is good for customer support. Never had any issues with total wargamer exept for the postage time, so if you want cheap and your willing to wait go with them id say.

Oh, I'm pretty good at kitbashing stuff together.
Just need the bare bones stuff.
I've bidded for 3 different Ork armies on Ebay and have only just missed out in the dying seconds.
Triple Helix sounds good though. Minor price difference compared to Total and free postage.

I do most of my army's cheap. orks are a bit hard, being a horde army. But here is a few things, Nobs are easy, buy one pack. than on eBay buy body's (usually sell cheap). you can make about 15 nobs (big choppa, choppa slugga, shoota) for the price of 1 1/2. also a easy way to make a big meks and warbosses. you can also look for fantasy boys. get some round basses and givem some guns and for the most part about the same.
But keep in mind,. these are just a few ways to do things cheaper, i will not say better. but i have never had any issues playing any models done this way with anyone.
if this helped and you want to know more pm me.

Ebay!
Total Wargamer is very cheap. If you have a problem, i did when they oversold the 6th Ed rules and my computer binned out on me mid order, use the phone number they have on their website of their STORE and not the internet helpline number. If your not getting the latest releases I don't see why Total wargamer will give you any problems.

Sheff or Nottingham try Wargames Emporium. At least the Sheff store has a good sale on 40k last time I looked, and if you can drive there you avoid postage charges. Saying that Postage from Wargames Emporium looks cheaper than Total Wargamer anyway and their prices are simular.
I've only ordered from Total Wargamer once, and my order took >4weeks to arrive, this was a problem as I could not use them as intended in a league game. The response I got from my ticket was generic and did not address my problem at all. I did feel better when I knew there was something listening to me, but I know if I want models in the near future I will not order from there again.
Only problem you might get from WGE is lack of stock in store. Best maybe calling them first

Ebay. Seriously.
Orks right now are a bit "unpopular" so theres a ton of insane deals on ebay. I got $1250 worth of orks for $700 after shipping all NIB and factory wrapped (except one box). That was awhile ago, i still havent opened most of it lol i even gave some of it to a fledgling ork player as a going away gift.
Its not as cut and dry obviously. Not like you can go "I want some of these!" but as an ork you can use just about any sprue to do whatever. My deal had about $300 of stuff i didnt want, but even ignoring that cost i still saved money on the stuff i did want. Find the deals, do some math, bid at the last second
