From the latest FAQ:
Q: If a vehicle suffers the effects of a Crew Shaken, Crew Stunned,
Weapon Destroyed or Immobilised result from the Vehicle Damage
table, does this automatically mean that it loses a Hull Point? (p74)
A: No, unless it specifically suffers a Glancing or Penetrating
hit, or some other effect that specifies that a Hull Point is lost.

So does this mean Drop Pods no longer lose an HP upon landing?

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?

Correct (and IMO they never did, but this was hotly debated of course).

If it suffers ANOTHER immobilized result it will lose a HP instead (in addition to the HP loss from the pen), but just for being immobilized upon landing, no, it does not lose a HP.

did they ever lose one? you only lose one for glancing/penetrating hits or terrain immobilisation and the drop pod doesn't suffer these when they land

They do not suffer a glance or pen upon landing. The drop pod rules also dont specifically state that it loses a hull point upon landing. As such they do not lose a hull point from landing and being immobilized.

Look up the debates about this issue. Some felt it was clear RAW they did not. Others felt it was clear RAW that it did.

As Rorschach9 said, it was a big debate. Some people claimed that the part of the rule saying it counts as immobilized meant that it lost a hp. Others said that simply because you count as immobilized doesn't mean a "hit" was suffered.

GW thankfully responded by stating No, it doesn't lose a hp.

Still not sure why getting stuck in mud or on a tree stump causes hull point loss.
