Flyers start in the reserves. So the turn they come in people are telling me they can shoot that same turn. Yet in the rule book on page 124 specifically says the turn reserves enter play they can't move further in the movement phase, nor may it shoot, run or move flat out. So where can I find the rules stating that flyers can shoot he turn they come in play? I checked the flyers section and its not there... So frustrating going through these books... ughh....

Oh darn I just realized I read it wrong.... That only applies if the vehicles' movement isn't sufficient enough to place it on the table or becomes immobilized then the above statement is true...

i dont really like that aspect. fliers come in and blow up whatever gak they feel like with impunity. how is that fun or exciting?

I think the main issue is that currently not every codex has decent AA options, other than the quad gun, which always feels like something of a crutch. If you look at the new Tau, they have a fair few units which have access to skyfire and/or interceptor, and are thus significantly better able to deal with enemy fliers. As more codexes get updated I expect we'll see more of this kind of thing and it will even out.
