Hi

I have just started collecting tau and I am having problems layering the armour of my fire warriors.

I have primed the models white and base coated the armour with Xv-8 and layered with tau ochre but I can't seem to get an even coat the amour just looks dirty and blemished I've tried putting more layers on but then it just looks like a bad paint job.

Please help

Thanks

I don't want to thin the paint to much as I don't want it to seep into the recesses and ruin the armour detail :(

Thin the paint more and load the brush less. What you need to learn is brush control - how hard to touch the model. How much paint to load in the brush and how to pull a stroke evenly. Its a case of practice.

Could you put up a picture or two so we can see what's happening?
