What is the best way for orks to handle opposing army flyers starting at 1500 up to 2k?

Defense line I think at 1500, then maybe fighters of your own as the points go up?

Dakka Jets do pretty well on their own for their costs against other flyers simply because of the amount of shots and how fragile most flyers tend to be.. But yeah your safest bet if you dont feel like taking flyers is taking a Quadgun +ADL

3x10 Lootas behind an Aegis defense line. If they are shot at, they g2g for a 2+ save and can still snap fire.

Not only anti-flyer, but anti-everything.

They snap shoot, but that's not a giant problem when you put out that many shots.

Ok so here is a list I came up with for 1500 points, I will also include the pdf file if you want to break it down further

Aegis Defence Lines, Quad gun

1 unit to include
Ghazghkull Thraka Warlord
Meganobz x 4
Battlewagon, Killkannon, Deff Rolla, Red paint Job, Rokkit Launcha x4

2 sets of 10 lootas
Big mek with Custom force field

2 set of 30 shoota boyz including one nob with bosspole

I am not sure how this will hold up, my main problem is a DA army. Love your feedback!!

Do you guys think its worth to run One Dakka Fighter or do you think you need 2?

Many fliers I imagine the orks can straight up ignore.

with 1, you come on and get intercepted. With 2, at least 1 can fire.

Hmm, I dont think ghazzy is worth the points at 1500, better to take a regular warboss with Mega armor, attack squig, cybork and bosspole for about 100 points cheaper. I think your BW has too much stuff on it, I dont really like rokkit launchas (only hit 1/3) the time so put Big shootas instead. The kill kannon is not very good at all.

Do your nobs with the boyz have PKs?

With the extra points I would take more boyz, or take some transports for your boyz so everyone gets to the fight at once (right now you have the BW getting there 2-3 turns before the boyz most likely).

I cant seem to put Mega armor on the warboss in Army Builder program do we know if this is still legal to do? Or am i just doing it wrong?

It's still legal, as the Ork dex hasn't been updated in years (2008?)

Must be a glitch in the program or user error, as Mega Armoured bosses are still a staple of badassery.

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

All the Lootas. All of them. Best Dakka the orks have to offer. Our fliers are actually pretty decent against other fliers if we can come in a turn afterwards. Roll the Dakkajet in with your extra supa shoota on a waaagh turn and you can glance most things to death.

It could be in there as a separate unit i.e there is a Warboss in Mega Armour entry that is different from the Warboss one, they do that for a number of HQ options (i.e Libby in Power Armour and Libby in TA are different entries)

In any case Orks can do very well against most fliers even without killing them simply because they can flood the board with models (that are still pretty good at fighting infantry, they aren't just taking up space). Even just putting 60 Boyz on the table can quickly limit options for fliers, you push everything forward into the midfield and they should pretty much always have to overshoot. With 90 or even 120 Boyz you should be able to make it so that they can't even land in your backfield to get shots on Lootas/Grots/artillery. Sure some fliers can hover, but that's something they generally want to avoid since they become much easier to shoot down and one long charge from a Mob finishes them off.

Hmm so you think the defense line with a quad gun is a waste?

Not really.

It's dirt cheap, and you can stick a minimum unit of grots behind it to fire it, without giving up too much room.

From what I understand you can leave it unmanned and it has a bs 5 the best orks can get

such a strange question, dakkajets, lootas, quadgun. They actually have an easier time than many armies. Put the warboss on the quadgun for called shot goodness.

I don't think you have quite enough S6-7. I suggest throwing in flakkadakka guns.

Lootas are the best for it
tankbustaz might not be to bad either 15 str8 shots at BS1 you will robably get 2-3 hits more than enough to wreck a flyer

Pretty much, the other two GW fliers are too situational and the Fighta-bommer and Fighta are both hampered by only having big shootas and ordinance.
