Me and my brother had a game with the relic mission. I had the relic in turn 5 and he had only one unit left so I decided to charge him so I could get warlord and table him in the same run and win massively. but his warlord survived and the game ended and now he claim he has won because he contests the relic with his last guy

is this true? is the relic to be contested just like an objective?

No reread the rules for the relic it can only be picked not captured like normal objectives think of it as CTF (capture the flag)

Objectives (capital O) can be contested.

The Relic is *the* objective, but not *an* Objective .

However, *if* the model that was carrying the relic died during that close combat then the relic was dropped and therefore no one would have owned it at the end.
