I'm personally a big fan of dual combi-weapon WG, I really enjoy the flexibility of the squad. Everything else is what you expect, Rune Priest joins blob. The one heavy bolter LF mans the quad-gun, so that the squad leader may use fire control to split fire.

Feedback is appreciated, any ideas on potential bad match-ups is also greatly appreciated.

This ^ was supposed to have a drop pod too right?

I would lose the primaris psyker because compared to the rune priest he sucks. Just take the cheapest cheapo HQ you can find.

What's the point of giving your guard infantry a power axe? It's not like they're going to survive a close combat anyway. It'd be better to give them something to shoot with so that they can support the SWs with some fire.

Primaris Psyker is the cheapest HQ that has the potential to do anything. CCS may be cheaper with no upgrades, but it's just asking to be shot in the face

40 guardsmen with ATSKNF survive fights pretty well in my experience, the blob's role is to bog down any potential threat to SW, the power axes give them some guaranteed damage output in close combat

In the same way that a primaris psyker with Ld 9 and 1 wound is just asking for perils of the warp. Only for 20 points more. At least an astropath would help your Vendetta get on the table faster.

But aren't the SW's coming in on Drop Pods? Since you can't fit all 40 guardsmen on one vendetta, I don't see how they're going to help the grey hunters out for a couple of turns at least. And most of them will probably have to walk through the open to get to the grey hunters.

I just figured that most of your guardsmen would hang out on a back field objective and / or behind the ADL.

EDIT : Ok I just realized that you meant the guardsmen were to protect the Long Fangs. I understand now. But I still think you should give them a big gun instead (if the points are the same). Because the power axe can only be used in the assault phase *IF* the enemy even gets that close. But something like an autocannon or heavy bolter can be used BOTH during overwatch AND to support your dudes in the mid-field.

Or better - you can let the Rune Priest man the quad gun and use his chooser to give him BS 5 while doing it. He can still shoot the quad gun and cast Prescience on some Long Fangs in the same phase!
