Just a quick question, if there is a unit of suits one with fusion, and one with plasma (both have target locks) could I have the fusion shoot at a transport, destroy it, and then have the plasma suit shoot at the troops dropped out of the transport?

Here ya go, direct from the errata:

Page 42 – Split Fire Change the last sentence to “Once this shooting attack has been resolved, resolve the shooting attacks made by the rest of the unit. These must be at a different target and may not be a unit forced to disembark from any Transport that has been Wrecked or suffered an Explodes! result due to the Split Firing unit’s initial shooting attack.

So, no.

No because all shooting in a unit is simultaneous.

So, no.

That has nothing to do with the rule in question in this thread.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

In short, Target Locks do not use Split Fire. It just says the model can fire at a different target than the unit.

I would still say no, as shooting for the unit is still done at the same time. One model is just blowing up a transport while the others are firing at something else.

Because you choose which targets the unit is shooting at before making any rolls to hit (pg 150 small rule book) the embarked troops are not a viable target at the point of target selection.

Furthermore, you must declare both targets BEFORE rolling to hit and pen against the transport, so there is no possible way to target the occupants as they are not on the board when you choose targets.
