I know its been done before but really considering doing a ad mech army, thinking of using the necron codex as I think that would suit the ad mech quite well,

Destroyer lords as Magos or lower on tracks with some souped up weapons
overlords being the Magos as well
and the royal court being tech priests (electro priests, Transmechanics, Lexmechanic etc) with funky wargear (time dilation devices for the chrono thing etc)

Flayed ones being the feral servitors
Deathmarks being the martian assassins
One of the other units (lychguard maybe) being the skitarii Praetorians

Warriors and immortals being the Skitarii (RP sounds good as they repair themselves)

Scarabs and spiders, at first I thought nah cant include these but then I thought of having the scarabs as nano bots (the entropic strike thing would be the nano bots eating the metal) and the spiders and mini factories on wheels with a tech priest running it?)
Destroyer would be robots

Annihilation barges would be mini ordinatus machines
and the monolith being bigger ordinatus machines maybe

Just went through armybuilder quickly and picked out a few examples of what could be what I am sure some could be improved upon but I think the basis of a good fluff list might be there.

Its a long term project so hopefully it would stop me buying lots more daemons to paint and use!.

Anyone got any links to previous ad mech armies they have built or seen?, Jons is a good example, and yea I could be accussed of jumping on the bangwagon for this one ha

Personnaly I would not play necrons as they are THE power list, but I would build a non powerlist army and use the units not seen that much (flayed ones etc), if I want competitiv I have marines or daemons to use.

Thought just occured to me, how about Tau? they are the other highly technological army who top of my head may work as ad mech
Just thought that Tau might be a good alternative,

Etheral as the magos, over seeing everything and not getting involved in the fighting
Crisis suits as skitarii Praetorians the elite bodyguard fighting units

Warriors as skitarii, str 5 weapons but sucks in combat

riptide as a knight,

lots of vehicles and small vehicles and drones etc, thinking about it, it might be a better idea. I did like the idea of the royal court using archane machines to do funky stuff with though and the skitarii repairing themselves, and the spiders being nano bot factories, hmmmm some research has to be had as to what to use to build what

I am thinking of this as the Magos, either the etheral or the overlord (that axe is big enough for a warscytche eh?)

These as the skitarii Praetorians

And everything else would be scratch built or kitbashed, main thing I would need to look for its half tracks models to either use or convert for the troops, warriors or firewarriors

Hurr! Ogryn Bone 'Ead!

The Frozen North

I have been honestly thinking of doing a Necron as Admech army. As far as the scarabs go, I was intending on using swarms of servo skulls.

You say that I am crazy. I say that you are right!

I am thinking of using the arco flagenets (sp!) on tracks, the tracks I found were these

The one on the right (yes I have shamelessly nicked someone elses ideas but they havent used the arco's)

These would be the wraiths, fluff wise they would be feral servitors repurposed into close combat machines

I would also use those bases for destroyer lords (or use the base in the background to the left) as the kit that has the tracks has both in them, shame I will have to buy around 10 kits! darn.

I would also think doing doing a command barge, but with gravity sponsons so it seems more apportiate to do the slash attacks,

I have been contemplating the same thing. Necrons seem like a good choice. But Tau have there appeal as well. Could do a combined force, allies of both to make it work.

Exactly what I decided to do today, as they are allies of conveince I can make it work, was thinking of doing the feral servitros as kroot (worst stat line over the necron and tau codex). Drones are pretty obvious what they are going to be, drones! ha, maybe have them as legio cybernetica (drone controller being the dude that controls the robots?)

Will get my ideas down on paper, or at least computer some time tonight hopefully

Another army mate!?!?

I was thinking of doing something similar. There is a Tyrants Legion list from FW that mixes marines, IG and tanks, this is a another possible option for you; high strength/toughness/Armour marines for skitarii plus IG for levys plus tanks, less far out there weaponry but worth considering for smaller games perhaps?

I only have two armies mate, just on is rather large and covers 3 codex's, but still one army!, honest.

Yep, daemons are staying as is for now, I have 60 horrors, lord of change, 3 heralds, 3 daemon princes and a soul grinder, well play with roughly the same list for competitive games but want something fluffy for non competitve games so fancy some conversion work!
