Dakets, I'm playing a 2 on 2 with no idea what I'm going up against or what my team mate is playing. The plan is to run Tyranids, a pretty standard list, but i have 204 points remaining and want the world with them. I can pretty much afford anything in the codex and models aren't an issue. I'm going to try and talk my buddy into playing chaos, 9 obliterators and a Helldrake. So, with that in mind, and my list here.
What do I spend those last points on? Thanks.
2 Flyrants 2 TL Dev w/ Brainleech
2 Tervigons 1 extra pshyc power (2 total)
Doom of Malen'tai in a Mycetic Spore
10 x Ymgarl Genestealer
3 Hive Guard Brood
3- 20 Termagaunt Brroods
3 Tyranid Warrior Brood w/TS
+204 points left
The odd balls out are the tyranid warriors, but they do so well in case someone decides to deepstrike, and they are a cheap synapse creature. If I dropped them it would give me 309 points to play with. I'm satisfied with the rest of the army.
Opinions?

Warriors only work if you take multiple small units with barbed stranglers. It means that maybe 1 or 2 of the broods gets across the board.
Drop the TS from the warriors, take 3x3 with barbed. It makes them a legit threat while giving you saturation. One of the reasons people dont take warriors is that you have to load so many points into them for them to be highly effective. Dont, just make them targets that the enemy will spend AT fire to kill which will keep if off your other things.
PS, your math is wrong somewhere. You have nothing that is odd point value but you end up with 204 points? Everything you have taken is mutliples of 5.

Drop the Warriors, add a third Tervigon and some biovores (I think you can get three to fit). The Tervigon makes up the additional synapse range and 3 biovores are great for pounding infantry.

If you like the tyranid warriors...
Get some mycetic spore and drop them in behind the enemy...
Extends your hive mind and deathspitters on rear armor is good.
Take the tyrant ability to outflank 1 troop. Good for the warriors again,
A trygon would be a good choice also...

As others mention, I'm not really sure what you're hoping to get out of the Tyranid Warriors. Now, running a minimalist brood of three with a Barbed Strangler isn't a bad idea in many cases; it's a cheap large blast with great range on a fairly durable platform that you can hang back and sit on an objective or in heavy cover.
If you want offensive Warriors, you're going to have to pay for them and take them in decent numbers. You'll also need a delivery system, as ground-pounding melee Warriors are just too slow and cumbersome to get the job done.
If you're going to bite the bullet and either get them to Outflank or get them a Spore (not a bad idea of course), then you have a couple of choices.
Obviously a huge brood of Deathspitter-armed Warriors in a Spore are pretty decent when it comes to flaying light infantry or light vehicles. 9 and a Spore will set you back 355.
Otherwise, you can replace the Devourers and take Scything Talons/Rending Claws/Toxin Sacks for a surprisingly durable and effective melee unit. They have nothing on the destructive power of Lash Whip/Bonesword/Toxin Sack Warriors, but are 15 points cheaper and in many ways the numbers off-set the loss in lethality. Again, 9 Scything/Rending/Toxic Warriors and a Spore will set you back 355, and since I assume you've spent 105 on Warriors so far and have 204 points spare, you're 46 points short. You could drop a couple and simply take a brood of 7 of course...
