So Ive had a great amount of my 40k IG army painted up but I am not entirely happy with the flesh. Most of my army is painted in its standard colors and then coated in a black wash to look more worn down.

But my question is, using GW paints how do you paint flesh that looks more like flesh. I still have the old tallaran flesh paint by gw and thats all I ever used for flesh.

Thanks for the help!

I go the real easy route. I use a pale flesh base which isn't GW, but Kislev Flesh would work. Either as is, or lightened depending on the tone you want assuming you're painting them caucasian. My base is very very pale as I wanted a fair skinned Scandinavian look.

Anyways, getting on with it....

Prime white

Kislev Flesh

Then 1-2 coats of Ogryn Flesh wash.

Not the best picture maybe. I can take another if you want.

That's it. Sometimes I go around the edges of the armor and hairline with Agrax Earthshade if it's looking too red in those areas from the Ogryn Flesh. Quick and easy, which is great for IG. Not as fancy as all the multiple step methods, but I think it looks great. One could go back in and do the highlights on top with lightened Kislev if desired I suppose. I haven't found it necessary.

Define flesh. Do you mean Caucasian flesh? There are many colors of skin.

Paint debhan stone then wash with ogryn flesh. If you want more highlights just highlight with skull white before the wash.

The best way to paint flesh is to use the dark pinkish base color peopel use dont remeber the gw name than add bleached bone or w/e its called now.. looks really good hope this helped.

I'd second the dheneb stone option also, but try this; tallarn flesh base, optional wash with gryphonne sepia or ogryn, then tallarn with bleached bone mix, then add more bleached bone for highlight. The dheneb stone works really well as a flesh basecoat, gives a more natural flesh colour rather than the pink of tallarn.
