Spoiler:
2000 points. Special Characters, Allies, and Fortifications are okay.
We would like to have all the Tau players vs all the other players so Tau can try out their new bag of tricks and feel everyone else's wrath, but we'll see who shows up and try and split it up as best we can.

There will definitely be BT, SW, and 1-2 Necron players, and my CSM. Tau will have 2+ Tau (w/ or w/o allies) and 1 guard + Tau allies.

Currently my list is:
Spoiler:
160 Huron Blackheart
100 Sorcerer, MoT, Terminator armor
50 Cultists (10)
280 1k Sons (10), IoF
280 1k Sons (10), IoF
395 CSM (20), MoS, IoE, Plasmagun x2, Powerfist
170 Heldrake, baleflamer
170 Heldrake, baleflamer
140 Obliterators (2)
140 Obliterators (2)
1885

So first off, how should I spend the last 115 points?
Also, instead of cultists, would I be better off running some allied guard (Lord Commissar, Veteran Squad, Vendetta x2)?

With regards to the plan, I'll be using Huron's 'Master of Deception' trait to infiltrate in 1k sons. Hopefully they can neutralize a unit or two (preferably Crisis Suits) turn one, while the rest of the army moves up.

Any help will be appreciated!

My new list:
CSM Primary
160 Huron
75 Sorcerer, MoT
265 1k Sons (10), IoF
265 1k Sons (10), IoF
395 CSM (20), MoS, IoE, Plasmagun x2, Powerfist
170 Heldrake, baleflamer
170 Heldrake, baleflamer
70 Obliterator (1)

Traitor Guard Ally
70 Lord Commissar
70 Veteran Squad (10)
260 Vendetta Gunship Squadron (2)
2000 even

Lol. Two heldrakes and two vendettas, not going to make many friends with this list. But you are there to win so go crush them. Only thing I would change is your icons. IoE is great so keep that, but IoF is awful unless you are shooting at cultists or guard, etc you just won't get many wounds for that 30 points. Also why not take a power sword for the csm champ, he's initiative 5 let him strike at it. Doesn't sound like you'll be taking on that many termies and even if you were one power fist won't stop them. That frees up 40 points to upgrade something else. Maybe make your sorc a bit tougher and MoN your oblit so he doesn't get ID by str 8.

I don't give a damn about GW, their crap rules, their extortionist prices, hot models, limited edition books, Digital Release and spam in a box armies. I don't care about Forgeworld or their shoddy resin and their wacky unit rules or whether or not they're allowed. I don't care. I don't.

I love Warhammer 40000 and if you want to try to spoil that for me, or impose your own vision of it onto mine, then you can go suck a lemon.

I would drop the sole oblit and upgrade the commisar with a ccs with ootf and astropath. I would also get adl in there.

I see your point with IoF & the fist.
So dropping both IoF, the fist, and giving the Obliterator leaves me with 49 points. Replacing the Lord Commissar with a CCS with OotF and astropath leaves me 9 points. I'm not sure how to use them though.

Huron
Sorcerer, MoT

2 Heldrakes w/ baleflamers

I would prioritize infiltrating the 20 csm blob first followed by 1ksons, unless it is bcuz you can not run 1ksons in the shooting phase. And I agree with using more points on ig, I think vets need some meltas. I like your list, it is wicked sick.

I would get rid of oblit. I would rather have havocs with 4 ac. You still need adl...

The reasons I was going to infiltrate the 1k Sons first were the not able to run, AP3 bolters, and that a 20 man unit is hard to hide.
I would like to put melt as on the Vets, but until I retrieve some stuff from storage I don't have the models. Right now I'm planning to either have the vets camp on an objective or hide in the Vendetta to drop on an objective later in the game.
I keep forgetting I have two drakes that will chew through units once they come on, so maybe infiltrating the Sons isn't as important?

@imweasel: I don't get the point of an ageis line in this list. The vets and CCS are the only units that would really benefit from it, and they can be put in the Vendettas instead. I don't need a quad gun (why I normally take one), I have 2 drakes and a pair of Vendetta. And 4 autocannon Havocs are good, but also notably more expensive than the Obliterator. The Obliterator is also more flexible with how I can use him. If my opponent doesn't have a lot of interceptor, he can deep strike in and melts things. If he walks he can fire heavy weapons at full BS, and one guy is more concealable than 5.

Adl is good because it doesnt force you to deploy the vet squad in the vendetta, allowing you to have a static scoring unit with 2+ cover if necessary. How much is the oblit?

MoN Oblit is 76.
And I can deploy the Vet squad outside the Vendetta, though I agree the cover would be a goof thing. My issue with it in this list is that really only the vets would be using it, and even then not every game. It also risks slowing down some of my units. I think I'm likely to get more use from the Oblit in general.

Well if you just table your opponents, there is nothing to worry about.

So the tourney is over. Here's how I did (Just so people know how the list did):

Game 1
Spoiler:
Tau, 2 hammerhead, sky fire broadsides. Draigo and palidans.
Hammer and Anvil, relic.
Lost (secondaries), had there been a turn six my last five sons would have claimed the relic and won the game. Tau out of range almost the whole game.

Game 2
Spoiler:
Dawn of war big guns never tire. 5 objectives.
Win.
Vs guard w/ 3 LRBT, mechvets, and fire warrior allies.

Game 3
Spoiler:
Vanguard strike emperor's will.
Lost. Vs DA/IG. Azrael +blob, 10 DWK, 10DW, 1 drop pod squad. All came in turn one (and marbo turn 3). Again, lack of ap2 was a problem. Only the fliers survived all 7 turns. Could have contested both objectives, didn't because rankings were W/L only, and would still have lost 1-3 (secondaries).

In the future, I plan to drop one squad of sons, the OotF & Astro path. Add more obliterators and possibly a squad of plague marines (may cut back on Slaanesh squad as well). Huron was ok, but will likely be replaced by Ahriman, and the sorcerer will become a nurgle lord. I'll write that list another day.
