So I was fooling around with a 2k list centered around a dual deathstar from both BA and nilla marines
the first:
Lydsander
Corbulo
9x sternguard marines w/combi-meltas
Drop Pod
Expensive, drops in and ruins someones tank. Lydsander in front with his 2+/3++/5+++ EW (or 2+++ from corbulo?) to tank wounds and take challenges and such until next turn and then they move and bolter drill. Corbulo is there to tank when lydsander dies. This is the alpha strike deathstar.

Meanwhile #2 deathstar moves up:
LRR
10x assault marines. Sgt with SS and PS. 2x PP
Reclusharch
Sanguinary priest
Vulkan
This approaches while the lydsander star gets hammered, and opens into ruin someones day. Vulkan tanks up front, 2+/3++/5+++ (no EW though) and takes challenges, while Reclusharch lets them all re-roll attacks.
By turn 2 both should be fething up some enemy units. Hopefully that is. Just wanted feedback as to whether or not this is a viable tactic (only other units in the army are 3x tact squads, so all my points went to the deathstars) and if it can be effective as it is in theory

I could be wrong, but can't ICs not ride in allied transports? In that case, Corbulo wouldn't be able to ride. That said, I'm not sure this is all that effective a list though, everything's concentrated into 2 units.

Allies can never ride in each others' transports. Also, the Blood Chalice only affect BA codex units, per the FAQ.

The functional approach with allied deathstars is to start on the table or DS together as terminators, not in a transport. Corbulo is an excellent tank, especially accompanying TH/SS terminators, onto whom he can dump the S8+ hits he doesn't want to take. The other enhancement that works well is psychic powers which affect the entire unit; Prescience, Endurance, Invisibility, and the like.
