So here we are I need a call. Unit of 5 CSM Havocs. My son thinks that he can assign a lascannon to two troops and a missle launcher to two trops, in other words he thinks he can have two lasconnons ad two missle launchers in a unit of 5 CSM Havocs?

Yes, he can. Up to four models can each select an upgraded weapon, and they don't all have to upgrade, or all have to take the same weapon.

Why would be not? Are you assuming that all weapons in the squad must be the same?

Yessir he can. My problem is that loadout, though. Make him take a couple of autocannons instead of laser cannons

Agree with Munga, LC's are 4 or 0 for optimal config. Mixing missiles and AC isn't to bad but I would probably just do 4AC or 4LC and skip the missiles altogether.

Eh, I bring the missiles for flexability. The fact that I don't have 4 AC models also has something to do with it, though

The wording's something like "up to four havocs may take one of the following", right...? That just means one *EACH*. To take it to the other logical extreme would mean they'd get one weapon between all four of them.
If a unit has to take the same weapons, it'll either state as much, or it'll be worded as "All models may take" instead (for examples of these, look at how Obliterators pick their weapons, or units that get Veterans of the Long War).

Son wins! Of course he can. The unit doesn't have to be kitted with the same HWs.

You can have 4 different heavy weapons if you want, it's a terrible idea but it can be done.
