Good morning Interwebs, I am posting from Seattle Wa

This morning an army was stolen out of my truck its in a KR multicase its around 6k of IG and Space Marines. 3 vendettas etc. If anyone sees them can you call Seattle PD or myself?

This Army was painted most Cadian green, Tanks were Tallarn Yellow and the Entire thing was on Dragon Forge Trench Bases.
Phone number removed didn't think of that since I copied and pasted from my home forum.

I have talked to all local hooby shops, filled a police report and spent 2 hours dumpster diving near by (which I will soon return too.) Pictures to come when I can dig em out of my old laptop. My camera was stolen with the army... So most are gone.

Still call the police though and tell the shop staff if it's seen, though.

Someone probably thought they were getting a couple grand in tools to resell and a neat softside case. They're now sitting at home going "what the hell are these, toy soldiers? At least the camera might be worth something".

Sorry about the loss. :( I had a substantial collection of minis stolen several years ago, too. That case actually WAS a former tool case, so it was kind of my fault, but that didn't make it any easier to deal with.

It was entirely the fault of the dirty thief, dont blame yourself at all.

I typically don't leave anything in my car that I'd be upset we're it stolen. Pretty good rule of thumb. Learned that when a gym bag with some $120 trainers in them were stolen out of my car but nothing else was taken....

so I think this should have the army pic attached. I was stopped for breakfast on my way to the shop to play...

This is not the whole thing just the 1750 that went to Bay Area open but a good picture at the paint style / basing.

Was that the metal case you had it in?

6k worth of models is a lot of money if the thief knows his/her hobby stuff, especially when they're painted. I hope for the best in your search.

I'm willing to bet money that the thief doesn't know their hobby stuff, but just saw the nice looking case and were hoping to score some valuable camera gear or electronics. Since this happened while the poor guy was getting coffee, it was probably some random douche walking by, saw the case, saw he had a window of opportunity, and bam, grabbed it and walked off.

Having fancy hard cases is nice, but they will attract attention to someone looking for valuables to steal.

Or not even looking for something to steal - just a passerby with low impulse control and lack of regard for other people who just thought, 'damn, that looks like something nice. Want!'

That's why I'm really hesitant to get a BattleFoam black label. They look like gun cases, and guns are one of the most likely things to me mistaken to be inside any hard shell minis case.

That's part of the reason I think people using gun cases for their minis are nuts.

Check dumpsters near the area where it was stolen, or about a 1-2 mile radius. When the thief finds out the stuff he has is just toys, sometimes they just cut and run.

You could luck out.

Reminds me of the story about one guy who opened up a case with a hunting rifle in his FLGS in the main shop because he got them mixed up.

i don't tend to buy much from your side of the pond but I trawl ebay a fair bit, I have your picture (of the models) printed and stuck on the wall next to my monitor. On the off chance I see anything on ebay ect I'll let you know.

It really sucks that someone would do such a thing and steal something so dear to you and I hope you get them back. I'm up in Bellingham so I will keep a lookout for your stuff at my local stores.

Check and see if there are any local thrift stores near were it was stolen. We have a lot if homeless people in our area that will steal stuff from cars and try and sell it to thrift stores for quick cash.
