Subject: Need help with my Panzerkompanie list

I started playing FOW recently with a few friends and we just recently upped the ante to 1780. After enjoying a lot of success with my Panthers at 1,000 pts, I settled on the Panzerkompanie from Bridge by Bridge. This is what I played:
Panzerkompanie HQ - 2 Panthers
Panther Platoon - 3 Panthers
Panther Platoon - 3 Panthers
Gepanzerte Panzergrenadier Platoon - 3 Squads
CV Grenadier Artillery Battery - 4 105mm guns
AA Gun Platoon - 4 Mobelwagens
I played against British and American infantry companies, and was absolutely destroyed both games by artillery. I had to spread out to minimize the effect of the bombardment, but this made it a lot more difficult to conceal my tanks so they were easier targets for anti-tank guns. I also ate a really nasty ambush from the US player by a bunch of Shermans.
I probably made a lot of noobie mistakes but all the same I thought it might be a good idea to get some advice from the players here. Is my list horrible? What should I do next time? List AND tactics advice is greatly welcome. Thanks guys.

German Panzer can be a noob-trap (no offence intended, the best description I could think of). People see big armour, big guns, and think "how can I possibly lose". Fact is the learning curve is quite steep for the big cats, you're always outnumbered, you can never afford everything you need (want scouts? drop artillery, want arty? drop some infantry etc)
Personally I'd save some points by dropping the 10.5cm guns, Replace them with cheaper Nebelwerfers for smoke, you dont need the big guns as your Panthers can deal with anything armoured, you just need smoke to enable you to outmaneuver Allied armour. And that's the name of the game with big cats, maneuver, maneuver, maneuver, keep his tanks in front of your cats and watch as you brew him up while he scratches the paint off your Panthers.
Also less AA might free up some points for a Recon element, you'll be able to avoid nasty ambushes.
Good Luck

Sadly the Panzerkompanie from Bridge by Bridge doesn't get access to Nebelwerfers and has no Recon platoons to take. Looks like I have to use some other list from a different book.

Grey Wolf has a good Eastern front panzerkompanie list. For Western front, check out the Panzers from the Meuse PDF.

If you want to run panthers (and lets face it, panthers are awesome) you should check out 5 SS Wiking in Grey Wolf, FT Panthers are a bit cheaper that the standard CV/FV panthers and they have most of the support options available

Really? Ouch! Yes I'd say avoid that list then.

As a Vetran SS player, yes i am a Fearless Vet nut. But when you play against the 101st Airborne and a Soviet Guards tank company, that is what it usually takes.
For me i play the SS iv PAnzer list from Red Bear. before that i was playing 12 th Ss Hitler youth.
As for your list, i would get me some Schiwmwagen Scouts, 88s for utility purposes Anti tank and AA roles.I would even double up on the 88s,take a SS gun and a Luftwaff one.
but this from my experiences what works for me.

The secret of success for a PanzerKompanie is to not get side tracked by big cats. Yes they shred enemy armour (usually) but thats all they do, infantry will have little problem with them and they are a huge arty/air magnet. Their points cost also means that your list will be lacking in support.
Don't overlook the power of the Pz IV and if you must take CV big cats only take a few of them (3 Panthers is a popular choice).
If you insist on a lot of big cats make sure that they are in or near cover if at all possible to cut down on the number of templates that they attract and accept that fact that while you will murder medium tank companies, infantry companies will murder you.

The prefect example of someone missing the point.
Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.
-Leman Russ, Meditations on Imperial Command book XVI (AKA the RT era White Dwarf Commpendium).
Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.
