So, shooting happens simultaneously, drone controllers allow drones in the unit to fire at the leader's BS, but they're still "attached" to the individual models that took them. Target Locks allow suits (and their drones) to fire at different targets than the main squad. If I utilize markerlights to raise the suit BS to 5, then utilize target locks to fire at different targets, do the drones still get the controller's BS of 5, despite not firing at the same target, but since the controller's BS is technically still 5?

Drone controllers let them fire at the BS of the model with the controller, not necessarily the "leader" of the unit.

Drones aren't attached to particular models except for when taken by an Independent Character, in normal units they are just additional members and the model that they were "purchased with" has no bearing.

Target Locks on battlesuits have no effect on drones.

Only models firing at the unit where the markerlight tokens are expended gain the bonuses, if you use your target lock to fire elsewhere your BS isn't raised.

The drones do inherit whatever the final BS of the controller is after modifications.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Yeah. I realized that the old rules don't really apply anymore about 3 minutes ago after another heavy read through... Not being attached is interesting. I don't know why that changed, but yeah, this changes how I work with them a bit, that's for sure.

They changed it because it complicated unit structure to a ridiculous level, keeping track of which drone belongs to which suit in a large stealth/bodyguard unit was a nightmare.
