Watching Rob Baer's review of the latest White Dwarf, he once again points out how a 'new' model has made the Hall of Fame. I find it hilarious. GW could screw up an instant bag of rice. Do they not understand the concept of a 'Hall of Fame'? Or, is it they have some strange reservation about putting their older sculpts into White Dwarf? Do they not want the kiddies to see the older models?

Eventually we will have a White Dwarf that features a model from a featured new release make it into the Hall of Fame in the same issue!

Anyone want to start a pool?

It kinda bugs me too, yeah. I was reading the issue from a month or two back and Urien Rakarth was the Hall of Fame inductee. I agree it's an excellent model and I loved seeing the concept sketch and insight from the sculptor, but I think something in the Hall of Fame should be going back a little further back. It's a great opportunity to highlight older models (which it used to do!) and in some cases, even reintroduce them to the current line of miniatures. I still enjoy the article, but it could definitely use some refocusing.

Seeing as how GW considers it's target audience to be 12-year-olds it's not that surprising. The new Urien Rakarth came out in 2010, to a 12-year-old that might as well be an ancient sculpt. Most of the kiddies probably already forgot about the hellbrute, too.

I feel like everyone keeps lowering the age of GW's target audience...

It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. Modeling Hall of Fame? I'm not familiar with it.

Shouldn't an independent organization decide what would go in the modeling hall of fame?

Shouldn't the first model be that chick from the Chris Isaaks video Wicked Game?
