Hammer of Wrath is an 'additional Attack' made at the base models Strength with an AP of -.

So if a model has a special rule attached to itself (not from a weapon) does he gain this bonus as well?

For example, a Great Unclean One has Poisen 4+. So does this apply to his Hammer of Wrath Attack?

Furthermore, Plague Drones of Nurgle have an upgrade 'Rot Proboscis'. All close combat Attacks made by the model are Poisen 3+. So does this apply to their Hammer of Wrath?

Lastly, Plague Drones of Nurgle have another upgrade, 'Venom Sting'. Before rolling To Hit one of the models Attacks nominate of of his Attacks to be made with the Venom Sting and this Attack has the Instant Death special rule. Can the Hammer of Wrath Attack be nominated as the Venom Sting Attack?

Suddenly this unit begins to make sense. Because the best use of this ability is to kill large monstrous creatures. Of course, since they are I2 and T5, any monstrous creature will just smash them into dust before they can use it. Not if they make this Attack with I10 though.

Thoughts?

No, they don't. There was an FAQ previously, due to Tyranids that had Poison. It is base strength, with no special rules, attacks, bonuses, nothing.

Check the DE FAQ for the current GW definition of no special rules and base strength.

ADD causes my posts to ramble from time to time. Please bear with me.

Correction: Poison, ignoring saves, and any model suffering a wound having to take a Leadership on 2D6 or 3D6 (depending) or be removed as a casualty

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Yeah, based on FAQs, there is only 1 character in the game right now that I know of who gets to modify anything, or use special wargear properties when making a HoW attack: Baron Sathonyx, because he was specifically FAQed to be able to do so. All other examples of HoW attacks that have been FAQed have stated that any special rules or properties such as AP/Poison do not have an effect on the HoW attack.

There is NO SUCH THING as MORE ADVANCED in 40k!!! There are ONLY 2 LEVELS of RULES: Basic and Advanced. THE END. Stop saying "More Advanced". That is not a recognized thing in modern 40k!!!!
