Hey all,

Curious if anyone else is having White Dwarf issues these days. I've had a 'script for years, but this latest renewal since the "new format" has just been a nightmare. Didn't even get my first two issues when I was supposed to and got them credited to the back end. Feb came about the middle of the month and March actually came in the week right after the announcement for releases that month. Now in April I finally get my April issue 2 days before the May issue is to be released in stores. The inconsistency is driving me nuts. Used to get it the last week of the "previous" month, until GW went into their super secret release mode and then I was consistently getting it during the week after it was released in the store. Now I either don't get it at all or heaven knows when I'll get it...

Just wondering if anyone else is having the same issues or not...

Recently started up my sub again this past January. First issue didn't show up until I called early February, and then I got both Jan and Feb issues at once...lol?

March was fine. April never showed up. May got here last week. The stranger thing is, the May issue showed up in a manila envelope, like the Jan issue when i had to have them resend it to me...so I don't know. It's a shame too, had a sub back in the day and it showed up like clockwork the same day every month.

Setting aside the question of why you are subscribing in the first place, I expect the only way you'll ever see a WD on time is if you either buy it at a GW shop or get the digital version. GW would rather have subscribers wait a week or two than chance it that even one copy ever arrive at a person's home five minutes prior to the actual scheduled release date/time.

yeah its generally useless nowadays the whole point of a subscription is for a perk, not, "you get it later then everyone else"
why would you pay more for that?

So you can have the chance to buy the special subscription model?

Have you tried to call customer service to see what else they can do?

Hey guys, please leave the seemingly automatic: 'Why are you subscribing to WD?' and/or 'it sucks compared to the good old days!' comments for one of the many other WD threads discussing WD's (lack of) quality and just focus on the actual topic at hand.

To the OP, I also got a subscription and started to have horrible delivery issues, getting my magazine on the LAST WEEK of the month it was for...so getting the Tau issue around today, for example.

I called Customer Service and after a couple issues where this happened (I made two calls in two months back to back) they told me that some post offices were delivering it super-slow and there was nothing they could do about it from the central office point of view.

However, after that 2nd call, they did put me on some sort of complainer list and I started getting a SECOND COPY of the magazine each month, but this one was sent first class in a padded envelope and was arriving on time every month (and then I still get the 2nd copy nearly a month later).

So my suggestion to you is to call customer service and complain. And then if it happens in the next month, call and complain again.

The customer service reps want to be able to make you happy, so giving them a call and letting them know your problems is the only way you can help them do that.

Maybe GW sent a cease and desist order to the postal service.

Yeah, I've had tons of problems. I got this month's high elf issue before I got my Tau issue. I just figured I wouldn't renew an just buy it at the store if I want it. Seems pointless to have it 3 weeks after the stuff is out.

I've had a subscription since January and haven't had a problem, mine have always shown up the first weekday after the in-store release.

I echo the above suggestion of complaining to customer service until they do something. Otherwise, if you have a GW store nearby, you could possibly look in to the pick up in-store subscription which would guarantee one on release day.

I keep having problems every few months. A Customer Service call usually sorts it out for a bit. So far I'm getting 3 extra issues at the end of the subscription, and had 3 months getting two issues like Yakface. I never call to yell, only to ask that my copy shows up sooner.

Thanks for all the comments, folks. Just wanted to see that I wasn't the only one having the issues is all. I've spoken with Customer Service multiple times on this and have gotten issues added to the back end of my script too and also had an extra issue . On an amusing note my May issue showed up yesterday, about when I would expect it to show. Go figure. Hahahaha....

Oh and thanks to those who instead of answering the question felt the need to offer up a "Why bother?" Always nice when people can be so helpful.

I do stick with my script because I still enjoy reading the mag, and the nearest GW store to me is not convenient, and I just don't have the time to bother to try and track the mag down at a local store every month. It is nice having it appear in the mailbox, just missing the consistency of the way it was before. Since they changed the mag,and changed their delivery source that things have sucked. Been reading White Dwarf somewhat consistently since around issue #15. It has changed many times in those intervening years and as long as I still get enjoyment out of perusing it, I will continue to do so.

I was having the exact issue (ha) you were. When Daemons came out I actually got the New Codex before the White Dwarf. I've since switched to Digital but funny enough, even after cancelling, I got the Tau issue (which I'd since downloaded and read) the same day the High Elf WD was released.

Hopefully they get it fixed for the postal customers.

Having the same issue here. Going to complain about it again as soon as i finally get the high elves copy.. I'll let you know what happens
