Hey Guys and Gals,

I decided to update the look of my old Tau Broadsides since the new models were released. So I stripped one down, cut him up and started to bulk him out. The goal was just to update the look, I know it wont be mistaken for the new model in any way but I think the end result works as a stand in. Its still a WIP and there are a few more details to the rail rifle I might want to add.

That sir, is cool.

I have been trying to decide if I wanted to attempt the same with my old broadsides... thank you very much for the inspiration.

How do these work rules wise? With the base of the new broadside being so much bigger?

Nice conversion, it looks almost on par with the new broadsides apart from the head and the base. Luckily I don't have to go through that hassle since I don't own any old broadsides. I just looked at those fragile looking plastic ankles and those big A$$ metal guns and thought: no way!

This has come up many times over the years (as bases change often), and basically its a non issue.

Even the main rulebook says use a mini with the base it comes with - and the old broadsides come with 40mm...

I love the work, can't wait to try with my broadsides...

Them's the rules for sure, but i personally love the larger bases on almost everything. Sure, it may not be as beneficial in game terms but larger bases allow for so much more coolness in posing and scenery. Swapping my guard heavy weapons (all Tallarn metals) to the big bases when Guard got redone was a godsend. Now they look amazing, whereas before they were just guns on bases.

To the OP, love the conversion, making the old Railsides look great
