So as the title says it Im basically going for my own space wolves colors or im thinking about the 13th company. Now I will try to get pictures up of one of the finished models Ive done with my color scheme but basically the model is based black and then it is painted with mechanicus grey I believe, its a darker grey. The the pelts are shaded with a lighter codex grey with blacks and whites added. The for some detailed parts like the center of the sholder pads and stuff I have used a color called Sotek Green I then highlight the edges of that with Lotheran blue.

Now the other option Ive thought about was going with the 13th company for the space wolves which I saw a picture someone did and the guys had basically a dark grey with black pads and armor. I was wondering if this was their color as it is different from the light blue and yellow look of the space wolves. If so I think thats what I might try instead.

Any fluff or ways to model some 13th company guys would be much appreciated.

I also figure I will probably weather these guys heavily as it describes the 13th company as being in the eye of terror and I would assume these guys to be heavily warn.

The 13th Company kits that were available in the 2003-4 timeframe were a mix of space marine and chaos marine sprues. The fluff is that they've been lost in the warp for several millennium and have had to resort to using plates from chaos marines that they've killed to repair their own armor. The colors of the original armor was a dark grey and black with red markings.

Ive been doing some research and I did find those kits! I also like the color scheme a lot. I will try to post a picture tomorrow of what my theme was but I think Im pretty sold on the whole 13th company fluff and colors. I found the 3rd edition codex: eye of terror which had pictures of some of the models. The fluff of them still hunting chaos is pretty awesome after so long.

If not for the wolf helmet, I wouldn't necessarily know it was a SW, but it's a nice scheme. Certainly makes them stand out as different.

I like the idea of them patching their armor as best they can. Maybe show some gashes in the armor that have been filled in with the epoxy they use in the books, or use some Green Stuff to make patchwork plates on some.

Does anyone know what the 13th Chapter's badge was during the time it was active? I've only ever seen them painted black, but it wasn't blacked out until after it was lost, and then only on the Grand Annulus.

Ive seen it before, if you search wiki you can find it, It was like a wolf with a red moon in back ground. I have a rune priest Ive painted up in 13th company colors and Im doing the finishing touches so I will post that when I get a chance.

And yes I wanted to go for a different color scheme other than the regular space wolves just because my IG is the standard cadian theme. But I think I really like this 13th company scheme. Once I get outta work later I will upload a pick of my finished rune priest painted in the 13th's color scheme.

This is my 13th company rune priest! I also plan on weathering the armor a bit. I honestly think the 13th looks better what do you guys think?

Also i have to add detail to the rune priests bolt pistol and add lightning effects to his axe. And tutorials on lightning effect would be appreciated!

Before they went poof back in 30k their totem was the sign of the Wulfen. I'm not sure off hand what exactly that looks like but I can do some searching.

Excellent! I love that model, and really wanted to use it, but I wanted a hammer, and never thought to convert it. Maybe I'll find an excuse to get him one day. Looks really great!

Yea the first spoiler is their badge, i found it before and now i remember it. I cant wait to try out the lightning detail either on his axe.

The problem when you take a pic with the iphone using the volume button is that it goes sideways since apple did not code it properly. I would advise you to use the actual camera button instead.

Scheme wise it looks good, similar to how i used to paint my charcoal grey space wolves.

I think that the 13th company was covered in codex:Eye of Terror. The company heraldry I suspect was displayed in that book.

Can anyone confirm this?

I havent really read through all the fluff in the codex but yes the picture listed above for their heraldry is that crested moon with the red wolf in front of it.
