So I found a heck of a deal from a player in my FLGS the only problem is I just started and do not play chaos.

The deal is for 260$ but the real models come up to 1400$ if bought at GW that is not including the fake cast models. Part of me screams take the deal and strip them all. And now I have a second army. Even if I have to spend 40 hours stripping paint and 40$ on cleaning agents.

The question I have is me being new to the hobby should I do it? Also I already have 2.5k space marines and I enjoy painting and modeling albeit I am not good yet but I enjoy it and the game portion is also really fun to me. Plus I was looking into a getting a second army after my marines are fully assembled and painted. Below is a list of the chaos for sell just for kicks and giggles.

Am I nuts for even pondering taking the deal?

sounds like a good deal but ask yourself this. Do i want to play Chaos?

Here is the tricky part I was looking at chaos and nids. So it kind of makes up my mind for me. And or if I repair the army and get it to a good standard or clean I could trade off for an awesome nid force.

As an added bonus I still have my DV chosen which are sweet models. I traded off all the other dv for more space marines.

And some of the OOP models just look insane and would be a blast to paint I imagine but In the back of my mind I feel like I am biting more off then I can chew. But I keep arguing with myself that it is a heck of a deal save 1100 dollars bare minimum. Even if I do put the army in a box for a couple of months and never touch it.

If i wanted to play chaos Id probably jump on it,

if you have the ~300 bucks for models and cleaning, why not? even if it takes you a while to get to painting them, they are not going anywhere.

if you have the money, and its not cutting into somethigne else budget, I would do it with no hesitation,

Since you have seen them in person you can tell what shape they are in and if you feel like they look cool and you like them then thats the most important thing.

If your worried about having way more then you can handle, I hear you, I felt that way before buying some dwarfs but I can tell you its really nice to jump to different projects as you get a little bored of what your working on.

Chaos is really fun and I really enjoy the models personally so as long as you like the army I would say go for it!

Money is no issue. I work in a refinery. The wife lets me have 300 a week for what ever I want, the rest is hers and the bills. So if that is where no votes come from I am defiantly not your average high school / college player. And it will not stop me from eating. It would just mean less beer and less space marines or paint. As I make it a point to buy 3-5 pots a week until I have everything from the entire line. ( she would flip gak if I dropped 1k on paint in a week.)

Even if you don't want all the models, if you have the time you can sell the ones you don't want on ebay. I've found warhammer shifts fast, especially if you don't get greedy. Considering you're buying them for less than 1/4 of their original price, I'm sure you'd at least make your money back, but more likely make a little profit.

To sun down and if I get over time ( every week) she thinks just like I do it is "she don't money".... Money that she don't know about as long as half of the extra pay goes into savings.

In that case, what the hell! just buy it and if you dont like playing chaos, buy another army next week

The worst case scenario is that you could sell all the bits on ebay and buy an even bigger army with your next $300.

Psh just buy it then do a army swap for something you do want.

Yep, just buy Chaos, it seems like a very good offer and you can even sell the models for more $$

First thing first, BUY IT.

Then make up your mind what do actually do with it, even if you don't want it you can just sell them as they are (painted and all) at a much higher price.

Buy it. Strip it. Ebay it. Use the 500+ or so profit to buy whatever the heck army you like xD

That's an incredible deal considering stripping is an option. DO IT. You also have the chance to try out a lot of the army all in one go instead of having to build it up and umm and aah over what to get next like the rest of us.

Sell piece mail on ebay you'll make your money back or just play chaos
