Shrieking Guardian Jetbiker

Hello everyone. My brother and I have planned to play a game tomorrow evening, and I'm hoping some of you might help me improve the list I've prepared. It's been a long time since I've fought chaos, and I know he likes to go heavily invested into armor (lots of forgefiends) with all the Heldrakes. Of course, like his army, he tends to be unpredicatble. With that in mind, here's what I've come up with ADL w/ Quadgun (manned by Eldrad) Eldrad Wraithguardx3 (join Eldrad, give majority toughness of 6 because I know I'm gonna eat a few flame bursts from those drakes) 3 Jet bikes (start in reserve, go for linebreaker) 5 Pathfinders 5 Rangers 2x Warp Spidersx4 + Exarch with dual spinnerets (one starts on the field, one deepstrikes) 2x War Walkersx3 each with 2x EML (both squads to be guided by Eldrad and sit behind the ADL) Warp Hunter Total = 1495 points. Thoughts? Automatically Appended Next Post: Now that I think of it... 2 low count cover dependent troops against the probability of 3 heldrakes is... poor planning. Automatically Appended Next Post: As are the wraithguard with their 3+ save... well... crap lol Automatically Appended Next Post: Well, maybe I should start with this question: Mechdar for mobility and then play by moving around a lot, or ADL for anti-flyer capabilities complimented by a stationary force.

Jetbike seer council maybe? I'd definitely keep the war walkers and quad gun for all the S6 / 7 shots. Besides this maybe wave serpents with dire avengers and fire dragons in?
To be honest I think eldar alone would have to be quite lucky to beat chaos with helldrakes if they're played right - good thing they're getting a new codex soon

You don't want Eldrad on the quad. Put 5 Fragons on it and the Exarch shoots using tank hunter and crack shot. When you intercept with the Quad your pretty much killing a turkey when it comes in and if you don't kill one, get new dice.
Take out the wraith guard since they have no reason being there and take up points.
Now if you know he is fielding turkeys, which have flame templates, then why do you have weak units that rely upon the use of cover... Take them out and swap em for any other troop choice. Make sure your Jet Bikes are in reserve and if you get more of them over the Pathfinders and rangers, then they are going into reserve as well.
Now I am not familiar with the AV and the penetrating power of turkeys, but have Eldrad close to BOTH WW squads. Can you guess why? Now if you protect Eldrad by sticking him in a group of DA ( pretty much a solid swap of 5 Path Finders for 10 DA) then you can fortune the group he is with ( after Guiding WW) and Presto you got dead turkeys and a very crippled CSM army since it sounds like this guy is hell bent ( ) on focusing on blob destroying things, when Eldar are not a blob army.
You also might want to think about merging the WS squads into a squad of 7-8 and give the Exarch Power Blades and Withdraw. They are soooooo much more survivable and deadlier than two 5 man squads. This also gives 15-30 more points!
So the only real changes that I would recommend are: Take out Wraith guard, Pathfinders and Rangers. Put in 5 Fragons w/ exarch and powers, add DA or Guardians, and then have fun if you got points left over.

Here's my new thoughts: ADL + Quadgun Eldrad 4 Fire Dragons + Exarch with both powers OR (Haven't made up my mind yet) 2 Dark Reapers + Exarch with crack shot 3 man GJB squad (reserves) 2x 9 man DA + Exarch with dual cata and bladestorm + Wave Serpent with TL SL and chin cannon 2x 3 War Walkers each with 1 SL and 1 EML I kind of want the dark reapers as that way I can add a few long range shots into whatever is in range before the heldrakes come on the scene, but without them I have ~60 points left over.

Helldrakes have a 5++, so they are probably never going to take evasive action so crack shot is not helping much there. If you want reapers, fast shot is probably the way to go considering you only have a 1 in 3 chance of damaging the thing per hit, before it takes saves. I would go with the fragons and tank hunters, so you can re roll pin rolls. If you go with the reaper exarch, fast shot+eml makes him a good tank hunter to deal with armor, so he can shoot the quad gun one turn and the missiles the next.
Either way, a single drake will burn the whole squad off the gun, and your opponent will probably target it. Maybe put eldrad out front with fortune? Risky strategy, but could pay off.
Eldar armor is good against chaos armor for the most part. The dire avenger squads can stay safe in the serpents which can crack rhinos and threaten drake rear armor while being safe from most incoming fire. The walkers should be okay for a while behind the gun.

Depends on what you do for your quad gun. I would go fragons+tank hunters as it is cheaper. Sure, the dark reapers can shoot their reaper launchers at marines, but either squad can be easily roasted by a drake, so better to keep em cheap.
Taking the dragons means you have a third heavy slot open for something like a warp hunter or more walkers, so I would do that if you have the points.

hmm... I could drop the jetbikes and that would leave me with about 120 extra points... Warp spiders? Automatically Appended Next Post: Well the score was 5-6 with my brother getting line breaker with a helldrake to win the game.
He had a terrible first turn in not scoring a single hit except for 1 glance on a wave serpent and losing a rhino + 1 full squad of havocs, only fired 1 shot per autocannon for 1/2 the game, and forgot to shatter defenses of my ADL with his warpsmith, and he still won. Maybe I'm just not cut out for Eldar lol...

eldar take a while to get used to and require finese. They are one of if not the most tactician required army. It is why I love them so much.

Perhaps I'm missing something -- aren't Helldrakes vehicles and thus not eligible to count for linebreaker?
