Irked Blood Angel Scout with Combat Knife

Hi, I used to play 40k back in 2nd and 3rd edition and I'm looking to get back into it with a blood angels army but I'm really confused. Currently the codex for BAs is 5th edition, do I just use that with the errata from the website or is there some other army list somewhere else I'm supposed to use? Thanks in advance.

Nope that is all you need. Current BA Codex (with FAQ and Errata updates), 6th edition rulebook. Welcome back to the hobby!

Ulthwé Eldar 3,211 pts
Necrons 10,001 pts W:18 T:1 L:1
Kabal of the Flayed Skull Dark Eldar 2,552 pts W:3 T:1 L:0
Hivefleet Nivalis Tyranids 2500 pts

Welcome back, Ric!
The most current Blood Angels codex is the 5th Edition one. Add the FAQ from the website and you should be good.

BA isn't seen as an overpowered codex... but it isn't exactly weak either. You should have a good time playing it while you get back up to speed. Be aggressive and don't be too afraid of Overwatch shooting. Good luck!

Yup, just use that Codex and look up the Errata. The difference between 5th and 6th is small and tinkering (though with some big differences from a few of those small tweaks apparently), nothing like the seachange from 2nd to 3rd.

I personally think that the Blood Angels will look quite different when they do get updated, but I think a general Space Marine force will still work largely the same for you.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
