Anyone play this game when it first came out? It had a fairly interesting story and really fun game play. The ship control felt good to me and i never felt overburdened controlling the whole fleet. Some mission get pretty hectic but that was part of the fun. I remember one mission stumped me when i was younger. It had you going to help an invisible ship and it would never let me do anything to actually "help" them. When i got older i realized "help" just meant take out the hostiles before they could kill the cloaked ship. (As a kid I never targeted engines resulting in them getting there first and blowing the friendly out of the water)

The fleet control reminds me of FTL a little with the way you can divert power around to separate systems and such, I'm sure many other games have done it too but most of my space games have been large scale 4X games like Sins of a Solar Empire. I saw that the game was up on Steam for ten dollars and figured I'd pick it up with the next check I get.

So have any Dakkaroos played the game before? Love it? Hate it?

Yep I played it, it was pretty good and I liked that it at least had a nod to real space physics, i.e. you ship couldn't turn on a dime or stop instantly.

More of a mission-based military campaign type game than a RTS.

Yeah it was, I enjoyed that though, it was a nice break from what a lot of other "space games" were doing

I enjoyed it.
That said it's not a game I could play the entire campaign of all at once...
