Are chaos Khorne Berzerkers suppose to have the Aquila helmets? I'm trying to make a fluff friendly World Eaters army after the heresy so I'm buying some forge word kits and the Berzerker kits from forge wold seem to have Aquila helmets. I'm getting small amounts of mark 3 iron armor for Havoc's and and mark 4 suits with chaos bits for the troops and addons to make them seem old. Just asking for some feed back. My first army is Eldar so I'm newish to the whole Space Marine scene

Well, any World Eaters who went traitor at the time of the Heresy would have kept their old helms that had aquillas. Just as likely, anyone could have and is likely to have scavenged a helmet off some dead chump at some point, do to the whole Chaos marine thing and not really making new ones. So it's likely that they would end up with an aquilla'd helmet, or breastplate, etc., but it's likely to me (and indicated in ADB's Night Lords book) that some Chaos marines ritually desecrate the aquillas on their armor, whether by smashing them with a hammer, cutting them up with blades, or just removing it altogether.

Well my question was its the Aquila pattern armor helmet. I know they'd loot the dead but I kinda would like my Berzerkers to have more of the mark 4 armor helms to help the look like veterans of the long war but I also want them to look like they are Khrone's minions with the fins on the sides. So wouldn't the berzerkers have tainted mark 4 heads? Idk if I am over thinking this whole thing? haha

That's true, they would probably loot the dead out of necessity. It isn't uncommon for berzerkers, or CSM in general, to have different armor patterns on them, since most warbands don't have access to techmarines anymore. I don't think it'd be a problem to have mixed helmets or armor at all.

In that case, yeah I'm sure there are plenty that would, but there are just as many if not more that would have looted new helmets which then got modified/mutated. Especially given that this is the World Eaters, who are not really known for their use of cover and avoidance of enemy firepower, helmets probably get wrecked all the time .

Thanks yeah makes sense bolters would hurt the helms thanks for the help just having trouble deciding on the Forge World purchase. Haha
