HI guys. I personally think the loyalist flyer is pretty cool model and it'd be cooler to have a chaos version of it.

Question is. It is legal in standard 40k game? (Thunderhawk, Stormraven, Stormeagle).

Is it commonly allowed for chaos to field all these loyalist flyers?

The Forgeworld rules for the Storm Eagle allow it to be used by chaos I think. If you want to use units out another codex you'd be better to put it by your gaming group first, or just make the model cool enough that they warm to it. =P

Edit: Rules, yes the Storm Eagle is a legal chaos unit.

It is also for Grey Knights, Space Marines, and Black Templar. The latter two got it a few months back in the "Death from the Skies" book.

Stormraven is specifically for most of the loyalists, as per Death From the Skies.

The Thunderhawk gunship is a Super-Heavy, which pretty much restricts it to Apocalypse games. But yes, Chaos can use it in Apoc as the Apoc rulebook has a note saying Chaos can use any Loyalist datasheets, of which the Thunderhawk is one.

Besides the fact that Apocalypse does not require you to take an army from any single Codex.

So, to summarise:

- Stormraven is restricted to Blood Angels, Grey Knights, Space Marines and Black Templars only (see Death From The Skies).
- Sormeagle can be taken by CSM (as specified in its rules).
- Thunderhawk can be taken by CSM (because it can only be used in Apocalypse, where you can take anything...and Spearhead, but who uses that?).

Ally in some Codex Space Marines to grab a flyer. Say they are "recently fallen" and stole it to escape their chapter. Maybe make it halfway in the "repainting" process so it's half loyalist paint job and half Chaos to complete the image of "new to the fold".

Then you could bring fun like Thunderfire Cannons are Scout Sgt Telion on a Quad Gun
