Hi Folks
So i play game the other day using my deadknight for first time and was so impressed with him. He shunted across the board turn 1 flamed a few long fangs and took apart a lone wolf and unit of grey hunters.
so I put together a shunt list.

Cortez

2 untis of 5 acolites with boltguns

3 units of grey knight interceptors all units have 2 incinirators and swords. One unit has psybolt ammo.

3 Dreadknights heavy incinirators, Great sword and personel teleporters

what do you think , its very risky on troops wise but i can imagine the faces of of people when they see 3 dreadknights and 3 interceptor squads in there face turn 1

I think you have to cut an interceptor squad. You need a Grand Master and a strike squad in this list. Grand strategy to make the interceptors and/or dreadknights scoring is so cash.

I need to return some video tapes.

I agree the master is needed for this list. I play a similar list sometimes and its super fun. YOu will suffer vs armor heavy lists and things like bikes.

I have removed a interceptor squad, cortez and both henchmen units.
Have added grand master
2 units of strike squads
6 men 1 psycannon

psybolts to interceptor unit.
are small units of 6 grey knights okay. i know they would probably benifit from a razorback but theres just no points.

It's better than 5 henchmen!

I accually like the idea of this. Its a list without psy-dreads which is a nice break. I want to try a list kinda of like this, but with more henchmen. It will take the dreadknights off the shelf thats for sure. Thanks for sharing.

Goat has a nice point as well. I would place a henchmen squad(DCA + Crusaders) with Grand Master in a stormraven to give an awesome assault unit that comes in turn 2-3 to provide backup just in case. I also like putting a henchmen squad with Coteaz in some ruins and cast priscience on 3 HB servitors and have bolters for bodies sitting on an objective in those ruins(having a techmarine wouldnt hurt also to improve that cover save). I would think they would have to leave him alone to deal with the shunts first turn(and dont forget that stormraven :p ).

Probably work

I kind of like the following:

2000 Poitnts:

GKGM

5 Strikes, Psycannon
5 Strikes, Psycannon

10 Interceptors, 2 Psycannons, Psybolt ammo
10 Interceptors, 2 Psycannons, Psybolt ammo
10 Interceptors, 2 Psycannons, Psybolt ammo

Dreadknight, Personal Teleporter, Heavy Incinerator
Dreadknight, Personal Teleporter, Heavy Incinerator
Dreadknight, Personal Teleporter, Heavy Incinerator

Give you a lot of shooting, 2-5 scoring units (as needed), everything is a denial unit.

Best of all, you can have you entire list in the enemy's deployment zone by turn 2 if you really needed by deep striking the strikes.

Of course, this kind of list relies on the jumping and probably on assault a little more than I feel comfortable with, since all the shooting is relatively short range.

I like all those ideas althoug it hard to fit so much in 1850.
i was thinking of dropping a incinataror from each unit and adding psycannon, for some lucky anit tank shots.
The Acolites were really just for legal reasons. it was pritty much a do or die list.
im going to see how effective 2 dreadknights are and if they proform well may not use a third (i will be sad) in 2000pts mind hes in.

A big mistake that I've learned personaly is don't shunt the interceptor squads right next to the enemy. Stay about 20 inches away. They are more expensive than a strike GK and suck in CC just as bad. You don't want to get your unit tied up in CC when it can get more turns of shooting all of those Str4(5) stormbolters.

Actually, unless I have good reason, I don't even bother with the interceptor shunts until turn 5. Dreadknights always get early shunts though.

Hmm so maybe keep them far back out of range of enemy guns if he gets first turn they won't get shot so bad, then when its my go shunt them and shoot

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Cc wise what should I be arming my units. Just swords to keep them cheap and maybe halberds for justica. Is what I'm thinking so far. Staffs are quite expensive.
