Friend gave me some old heavy gear's models still in the blisters. The blisters only say "Heavy Gear" rather than blitz, and rather than being the "All purpose with options" the names specify the loadout (Assault grizzly for instance). Just curious if these are the actual current HGB models or the old larger OOP ones? If they're the OOP ones would it be worth me flogging them and getting the current sculpts? Thanks

You'd have to post pics and the names of the models you have to truly know. Do they have an original blitz style datacard in the blister? If so, they're likely from the blitz era. The older tactical minis still look ok next to the current ones as long as you do simple weapon swaps for current versions as the weapons were the most undersized parts. The arms will still look a little bit scrawny but that's a much more expensive and almost impossible fix.

If anything, I'd get rid of any fire support gears (grizzly and cobra variants) and keep the rest (and just do weapon swaps for them). When they switched to blitz, they kept the overall size of the "middle" gears like the Jaeger roughly the same but increased the difference between them and the fire support and recon gears. Fire Support gears got noticeably bigger and recon gears got noticeably smaller.

Hope that helps.

It does help thanks. Got it variefied over on the DP9 forum that they're the 2nd wave tactical ones from before blitz with the smaller guns etc. The hunters, jaguars etc should be ok then. Wasn't sure on the grizzleys/kodiak but i should hopefully be able to sell them for enough to work towards replacing them then. Thanks for the help, would about £10 each for the support ones be a reasonable ebay price do you think? Or i cheating myself out of it/over pricing?

I don't have any knowledge of the UK market for HG models but I can tell you that you'd be extremely unlikely to sell them at that price (even including shipping) to a US customer. Online stores sell the current version of fire support gears new for around 12 GBP equivalelent per model. If anything, I'd say expect to get no more than 8 including shipping as a best estimate and probably 6 more realistically. If you're fine with the look of the older ones yourself, they're still 100% legal so keep them.

Ok thats handy then, I have no problem with the look of them myself, and if I do end up using them as leagueless its easy enough to fluff handwave them as older variants or something. Hm seems cheaper here, even before postage the discount retailer price is around £14, though thats after VAT i believe so i guess it works out about the same. Fair enough, selling them for that little I doubt i'd get far in terms of getting the current ones any time soon heh. Thanks for all the help

They'll be a little small. It's to a degree that they'll stand out if side-by-side with new versions, but on their own in a Leagueless force they'll probably look fine. Maybe make them on a 'rock outcropping' scenic base if it bothers you.

Thanks to you too balance. Before long i'll probably end up with a mix of old and new which wouldn't be so bad in a leagueless. If it was a more uniform faction though it would bug the hell out of me. Atm its mostly hunter variants and support gears anyway, so may have a fiddle in gear garage and see what i can come up with with the minimum amount of add-ons needed. I'm guessing that the old infantry wouldn't work either though and best to sell them?

Infantry is definitely a personal consideration. I don't have any of the newer infantry myself, but from what I've seen, the newer infantry sculpts are a bit thicker looking to give it the look of heavier, more modern armor. Also more poses, and the special weapons.

For leagueless, this makes perfect sense that they might look less armored... it's a bunch of raiders and/or militia types, not professional soldiers, generally.

Thanks balance, leagueless will probably wait as i was finding it difficult to put a list together that the north couldn't do better. The infantry is a none issue, il probably get the updated ones anyway.

I don't think Northern infantry has been updated in quite a while, so you're potentially good there!

Actually the infantry on hand is southern T_T heh for leagueless it'd be fine, for north not so much.

Maybe I should have just put my list ideas in this thread rather than a new one ><
