Hi all,

Normally I'm and Eldar player, but I have started to build a Minotaur SM army. I'm still having difficulties playing with it because my list normally dont have a good synergy throughout the list.
With Eldar I'm used to taking whatever I like to take that moment and it will do fine. I'm used to the army and can make more or less any list work.. but with SM I dont have this.

So..here is my 2250pts list. I'm having a battle tomorrow evening so I was hoping I could prevent realising mistakes in my list during the game, by having you guys looking at it.

HQ:
Lord Asterion Moloc (FW model using the leaked IA12 rules)

ELITE:
10x TH/SS Assault Terminators
5x Sterguard Veterans (2x Meltagun, 3x combi melta)

TROOPS:
10x Tactical Marines (Meltagun, combi melta, lascannon)
Rhino
10x Tactical Marines (Meltagun, combi melta, Missle Launcher)
Rhino
10x Tactical Marines (Meltagun, combi melta, Missle Launcher)
Rhino

FAST ATTACK:
1x Landspeeder (typhoon missle launcher)
1x Landspeeder (typhoon missle launcher)

HEAVY SUPPORT:
1x Spartan Assault Tank (FW tank with 2x Twin linked Lascannons and 25 transport capacity + armoured ceramite)
^^ terminators + HQ will go in here

1x Vindicator
1x Vindicator

The plan is simple, get close asap. The assault tank and terminators+HQ are pricy, but I hope that either they dont get targeted because they are too hard to kill, or they do get targeted, and take all the fire away from the rest of the army. Either way, the vindicators and assault tank will pose a big problem to most enemies to deal with. He cant ignore them because they kill to hard, but if targeted, the speeders and marines are free to manoeuvre to good positions.

So, what do you guys think?
Good thing to know is dat I only face Orks, Tyranids, Grey knights and Tau. The times I played SM was all vs Tau, which posed a problem every time. (but I want an anti-army)

EDIT: Oh, and assume I have every model in the codex available if you want to make changes.

One thing I noticed is your list seems to be lacking some anti-infantry, as your tactical squads will seem to be geared towards anti-vehicle. Normally this wouldn't be such a concern but when your versing 2250 points of tyranids and orks, it may be a trouble. Against grey knights I think this list would go all right if it's got lots of power armored/terminator armored units.

Against Tau I think I would personally replace the rhino's with drop pods (with deathwind missile launcher) purely to get in close quicker.

In general though, more anti-infantry I believe would be useful.

Get some claws in your assault termies to take advantage of the free assault grenades Moloc provides, drop the sternguards, they don't have a delivery system and won't do much on foot; get a termie Chaplain to stick with the assault termies.

ONE KEY THING THAT WILL HELP:

you can combat-squad out of a transport vehicle! Split your termies in half and you get to have 2 separate assaults out of the Spartan!

Damn, I've never even heard about the spartan assault tank, but it looks cool!!

Anyway, mostly this list seems ok. But in one unit you've made almost all the mistakes there are (sorry, I know it sounds harsh).

The Sternguard. 1) 5 of them won't make it foot slogging.
2) I would anyway use 10 of them if you have the models.
3) They benefit from their Special ammunition so don't take special weapons for them unless you have to. (Combi-weapons are exception)
3) Their primary use is "alpha-strike". Simple. Put them in Drop Pod, give them combi-meltas, drop them near some tough enemy tank, take First Blood and benefit.
