As Question Above, but I wasnt sure if there was a particular order to buying equipment. Also, brand new to Dakka! Hi everybody.

No. They aren't Deathwing Terminators, so they don't get Deathwing Terminator specific equipment.

First off welcome to dakka
Second your question:
The above answer is right but the reasoning is wrong. storm shields are available to command squads but when you upgrade to an apothecary you are no longer a veteran, because you have a different stat line and as such you cannot take veteran upgrades.
tl:dr no apothecaries cannot take storm shields

Yup, they do this in a lot of squads with varied upgrade options. The delineate the various types of models in the squad by name (Veteran, Company Champion, Apothecary, etc.) and by giving them separate statlines in the unit entry Then they tell you what kind of upgrades are available to each type of model.

First, sorry to necro the thread, I am searching for something else deathwing related and stumbled across this.
Second, Can Dark Angels Apothecaries take Storm Shields? Yes they can, per the FAQ
Q. When I upgrade Deathwing and Ravenwing models
to Standard Bearers and/or Apothecaries, can they still
use items such as lightning claws, thunder hammers
and storm shields, assault cannons, meltaguns, flamers
and plasma guns? (p81)
A. Yes, because they are extraordinary individuals!

...You do realize that the quoted FAQ is from the 4th edition codex, not the 6th edition codex, right?
