Hi everyone ! I started to paint the Dark Angels from the DV box.
My goal is to build a 1500-2000 point army. I am quite a slow painter, about 20 hours for each terminator, and 10 hours by marine, just 4 more to go :p !
I hope you like it , and all comments, suggestions or ideas are welcome

Nicely painted, but they look like sons of Horus in those colors. Was that a stylistic choice?

Looks pretty good. The guns could use a bit more decoration though, especially on the tacticals.

Thank you for the answers, yeah the colours are not a match to the traditionnal dark angels ones, but that was what I intented. Its true they are a bit bright, the ravenwing to come won't be as much. i didnt know about the son of horus thanks

I would call them the Bright Angels! Jeeze, they are some bright green lads. Not that they're painted bad, or anything. They're actually painted really well. Just a little bright for my taste.

I really dig these. I think taking a different direction with a classic colorscheme can really work sometimes. On top of that, your fades and blends are technically quite nice

Could you explain how you did this awesome battle damage on the first pic? I really like that one!

Thank you everybody

Yeah sure for the battle damage i used a black with a touch of deep blue, and i paint different size of damage, thin lines, bigger touches. Its important that it's not regular to be credible.
Then i underline each of those with a touch a white, and the main difficulty i think is to find the good dilution, if its not enough diluted it stays on the brush, and if too much its hard to make thin, clear lines.

I hope my explanation is not too confuse

Who cares what color they are, they are VERY well painted. Great job, can't wait to see more.

I wasn't sure about the colour scheme to begin with, but the more I see, the more I like! And technically they're really well executed... Excellent work...

Hi everyone, and thank you for your answers and compliments.
Here are some very little news, i painted the sergent of the squad. I dont really like the face, but i havent been able to do better. I will redo the sword as im not convinced by it.
I have also started paiting the bases of the terminators.

Im gonna finish one more termi then will start on the ravenwing in traditional black i think cause im starting to get fed up of green :p

I hope the pics are not too big.

Not too crazy about the color scheme but it is your army so my opinion on that does not matter. The blending is top notch though, wish i had that skill.

I like the models a lot. If people complain they're too bright for Dark Angels, you could just say they're fighting on a world with a bright star.

The paint is great, but the look a little bit more like Sons of Medusa, rather than Dark Angels.

Amazing. I would gladly spend 20 hours a model if I could paint this well. Takes me 5 as is and it SUCKS
