I've never been to an actual Warmahordes tournament, but I've looking into possibly dropping in at one of the local tournaments the next time one rolls around. In order to get ready, I've been familiarizing myself with tournament rules and ran across the Iron Gauntlet rules. While I'm in no way ready for that level of play, I would still at least like to understand how the Iron Gauntlet tournament is being conducted. This brings me to my question, which arose when I noticed the mention of specialists in the rules. How exactly do specialists work in a tournament (i.e. what the heck is a specialist, what are the benefits of using them, etc.)?

If "Specialists" are being used, it just means the tournament has a sideboard basically. Thats a small amount of points that can be swapped out each game, to give you some more option depending on your opponent. If they're being used, it'll be specified by the TO.

Full rules for specialists are in the Steamroller 2013 rules (http://privateerpress.com/files/Steamroller_2013_Rules_3.pdf) on P6.

Basically, in a multiple list format both you and your opponent reveal your lists at the same time.

After this step, you can swap out for specialists to tailor to the specific enemy list. If specialists are part of the tournament.

Thanks folks. I evidently missed that part while skimming through the Steamroller rules, so I appreciate the information.
